Despite criticism from thousands of women, including celebrities such as Emily Ratajkowski and Chelsea Handler , Instagram still hasn’t lifted its no-nipples policy, a sexist rule banning women from posting photos and videos of the same body part that men show on an almost daily basis. So what have celebrities done to protest the rule? They’ve taken to the streets—literally—in braless and sheer outfits.
Ahead, we’re looking at every famous women who has stuck her middle finger up to Instagram’s nipples ban and freed their areolas in see-through looks. Whether they’re walking down the red carpet in a designer gown or strolling through their neighborhood in clothes plucked from their closets, these stars are braless and look fabulous.

Or rather, uncovered. As we all know, nipples are nothing to be ashamed of and everyone has them, so all the high fives to these throwback stars.
The actress lounges on the set of You Were Never Lovelier wearing a dress that *just about* frees her nipples. Pretty scandalous for 1942, and you know 2017's naked dresses could never.
Here's the stunning Raquel Welch posing for a fashion shoot in 1968, making the case for going braless in a sheer white blouse.
British singer Marianne Faithfull freed the nipple in a lovely floral blouse that we can definitely see the likes of Gigi and Bella wearing circa right now.
Okay, so this is less freeing the nipple and more freeing everything *except* the nipple, but still counts and then some.
A closer look at the actress in this magnificent '60s era dress.
Rita Hayworth, popping up again to break a few more sartorial "rules"—this time in 1945.
