Nuggets Outlast Thunder in High-Scoring Thriller, Jokić Drops Triple-Double

Denver, CO – May 14, 2025 – In a game that had fans on the edge of their seats, the Denver Nuggets held off a furious fourth-quarter rally by the Oklahoma City Thunder to secure a 128-125 victory at Ball Arena on Tuesday night.

Nikola Jokić once again proved why he’s the reigning MVP, dominating with a 32-point, 15-rebound, and 12-assist triple-double. His clutch play down the stretch, including a crucial step-back jumper with 28 seconds left, sealed the win for Denver.

The Thunder, led by a sensational 41-point explosion from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, nearly erased a 17-point deficit in the final period. Rookie center Chet Holmgren added 22 points and 5 blocks, but Oklahoma City fell just short in their comeback bid.

'We knew they weren’t going away,' Nuggets head coach Michael Malone said postgame. 'Shai is a killer, and their young guys play with no fear. But our guys made the plays when it mattered.'

Jamal Murray chipped in 26 points for Denver, while Aaron Gordon provided key defense late, including a game-saving block on Gilgeous-Alexander’s potential game-tying three at the buzzer.

The Nuggets (57-25) now turn their attention to the playoffs, while the Thunder (49-33) will look to regroup before their first-round matchup.
