Vipula cares for and counsels the new admissions. I am married to Amani Silva, She was attached to another fellow Christian mission spreading the word of God. Today I am leading a happy family life with three kids to call me daddy and freed from drugs with HIS grace alone. I have been sober for the past 10 years. My wife is also a full-time volunteer. I am grateful to Jesus Christ for saving my life and giving me happiness instead of sorrow and agony I went through being a drug addict. But to tell you the truth, from the very first day I set my foot at the Bethesda, something told me that this JESUS could set me free from drugs. Oh yes, I was a strong Roman Catholic from birth. I was feeling free and happy all the time. If someone asks me, why am I happy? It was a true joy within me. Since I have been staying with my brother Vipul and started voluntary work in Bethesda. I know HE is taking me to where He wants me to go. My idea was to do a normal job and live a peaceful life. But GOD had other plans for me. I am 41 years of age. I was addicted to heroin for 18 long years. Till , I was getting admitted to many centres around the country trying to find a way out of drugs. By this time, I got to know about Brother Vipul and came and got admitted. It was not easy for me to get out of drugs because I used to consume a lot of drugs a day. Being from a Muslim background, it was very hard for me to get adjusted to this new Christian faith. But to tell you the truth, from the very first day I came here, something told me that this JESUS could set me free from drugs. I knew about what Brother Vipula was doing and I went to meet him in Even though I had stopped drugs, my life had not changed. Brother Vipula also knew me well.. When I met him, he gave me and told me to look for a place to start the centre. I was just a beggar left with nothing.. JESUS gave me a good wife and a good family who love me very much.
