NJ Transit Workers Go on Strike, Commuters Face Chaos in 2025

'I’ve been waiting for two hours just to get an Uber,' said Maria Gonzalez, a nurse from Jersey City. 'This is a nightmare—how are people supposed to get to work?'

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency, urging private employers to allow remote work where possible. The state has also deployed additional NJ TRANSIT buses and encouraged carpooling, but many say the measures are insufficient.
