I love Lifetime and Hallmark movies. They are entertaining a tug at the heart strings, but they almost always come with a profound message attached. These two are no exception. Mom at Sixteen is exactly what it sounds like. A girl gets pregnant and has a baby at sixteen, but her mom's tells her she can only keep the baby if she agrees to say the baby is her little brother instead. She agrees, but the decision ends up costing her more than she realized it would. Too Young to be a Dad is, again, exactly what it sounds like. This time a boy is the main character. He gets his girl friend pregnant at 15. Their school sends her to an alternative school but does nothing to him. He decides to face up to his responsibilities and goes to the alternative school of his own choice. HE says that she shouldn't be the only one who has to deal with the consequences of their choice. When the girl's parents decide that she needs to give the baby up for adoption, the boy's doesn't agree. He wants to keep the baby, so his parents do what they can to help him. Both movies are good tales that can show a young person the true consequences of having a baby to early.

This movie was a tear jerker for me. I, too was a teenage mother. Although I had nowhere near the hands on support this girl had, my struggles were just as life changing... No brakes... Full speed ahead. The movie shows the realistic depiction of what many young pregnant girls go through, including the shaming from peers, embarrassment, confusion of your options, and feeling as though you may not be what's best for your baby. Although I didn't give my child up for adoption, as an adult I made such a decision for my 3rd child due to my inability to care for that child adequately. I can tell you....even as an adult it felt like backbreaking agony to admit this truth and submit to an open adoption for the sake of the child's future. I'm not sure if I could've done this at 16.

Parents have to realize that kids ARE having sex...Teach them the best you can (that's important, if you don't teach them as parents, then you (and this is just my opinion of course) have failed your children) about abstinence, real love (not "puppy love"), and the facts...the facts that yes it can happen if you're not ready (who's ready at 16?? I got married at 19 and he was 21 and our first baby was born (she's still referred to as our "honeymoon baby" lol) after we'd been married 10 months and 14 days and we were just WOW-ED at how "much" came with having a baby....and we were married with decent income coming in!!), it can happen if it's your first time, the likely hood of a teen father "sticking around" is slim to nil (though it DOES happen, it is VERY rare), I have seen this with my SIL and with 2 of my cousins....Teach your children so your children don't become "Mom's" or "Dad's" when they're still children themselves!!!!!!!

Good Lifetime movie. For those who have troubles understanding the impact of teenage pregnancy, this might give some insight to how the family handles it. It shows the overworked now grandmother who is trying to juggle work, single parenthood, raising her two children, and now raising her grandchild all so her kids can still have a "normal" childhood. It also talks about infertility, adoption, and other struggles many people face while trying to start a family. It was emotional to see how these families struggle with real life issues.

I really liked this movie, mainly because it's told from the teenage father's point of view. About 90% of the TV movies that deal with teen pregnancy are mainly told from the mother's side. This one took a different approach which I thought was a very smart move. Paul Dano was perfectly cast for the roll of Matt Freeman, a straight A honor roll student who sleeps with a girl he likes and she ends up pregnant. Both of their parents decide that adoption is the best option for the baby, but as the movie goes on, Matt has second thoughts. I'm not going to give away the ending, but in my opinion it was a very good ending. This movie is really good for parents to watch with their teenagers since it will (hopefully) send a message that one can end up being pregnant even if you have only had sex once.

A North Carolina mother-of-sixteen, who has spent 14 years of her life being pregnant, was over the moon when she received a piece of heartwarming news. The doting mom confessed that she hoped to reach the magical 20-kids milestone in the future.
Families come in all shapes and sizes and are special and extraordinarily beautiful in their distinct ways. Everyone's idea of a happy and prosperous household is different; some parents like keeping their family size small, while others prefer having a house full of little ones' cackles.
While parenthood is no easy feat, it can teach people life-altering, eye-opening lessons about life and the things that truly matter. Love and affection multiply when shared, and the family in today's story is a classic example of how the most challenging tasks can lead to the most heart-melting results.

Patty and Carlos Hernandez are not your average couple. They reside in North Carolina and have a large household comprising 18 members. Every day is filled with new challenges, surprises, and endless excitement for the family, and they hardly have a dull day.
The couple is doting parents to 16 children and runs a commercial cleaning business to sustain their family. The children's names begin with the letter "C" as a tribute to their hardworking and devoted dad, Carlos, 39.

Patty, 40, has spent 14 years of her life pregnant and has had children since 2018. She and Carlos have six sons and ten daughters β six of their kids are sets of twins, which runs in Carlos's family.
The gigantic brood includes Carlos Jr, 14; Christopher, 13; Carla, 11; Caitlyn, 11; Cristian, ten; Celeste, ten; Cristina, nine; Calvin, seven; Catherine, seven; Caroll, four; Caleb, five, Caroline, five, Camilla, four, Charlotte, three, Crystal, two, and Clayton, one.
Patty and Carlos welcomed baby Clayton in May 2021 and said they wouldn't rule out the possibility of having more kids. The Hernandez couple garnered popularity in 2019, but since then, they have added two more little ones into their family.

The then-mom-of-15 admitted that looking after so many kids could be challenging, but she was delighted and considered it a blessing. Patty revealed that after almost three months of her last pregnancy, she would conceive again and was always happy when she was pregnant.
The petite woman said she astounded people whenever they spotted her with her large brood, and many even asked her if they were all her children. In January 2019, the ecstatic mom gave a glimpse into her family's daily routine.
The Hernandez family's day started at 8 in the morning when Patty prepared a wholesome breakfast of cereal, waffles, or pancakes. Once breakfast concluded, the kids practiced Christian Devotional, which included praying, singing, and reading together.

Soon afterward, the school-going kids took the school bus and left, while Patty stayed home to complete her chores and tend to her little ones. The busy mother explained :
"I try to do everything while they are at school because that's when I have the most free time. If I have an appointment I take all of them with me."
The older children finished their homework at after-school study and got home before six. Then, the entire family sat down and had dinner at their sixteen-seater table, which included pasta, eggs, beans, or salad. After dinner, the kids said their prayers and played for a little while until it was time to sleep at 8:30 p.m.

But it seems that Patty and Carlos are not done adding to their large household because they are expecting their 17th child β a baby boy β with the delivery date set for March 2023.
The soon-to-be mother shared that she plans to reach the magical number 20 and have an even number of kids β ten boys and ten girls. Patty said she's very fertile and has placed her trust in God regarding the future. She told The Mirror:
"We always wanted a big family but never thought God would bless us this much."

Earlier, Patty revealed that she and Carlos wished to name their child Carter if he was a boy and Clair if she was a girl. The North Carolina resident said she wanted to continue the tradition of naming her kids with the letter "C" even in the future.
While the Hernandez couple never envisioned having so many kids, they revel in the joy of parenthood and are determined to keep going.
Since expanding their family, the devoted parents have changed their 16-seater vehicle and bought a 20-seater bus, which Patty uses to take the kids to school.

Despite their large household, the couple noted they don't stress about expenses and work hard to provide for their children. Per Patty, she and her husband have never used contraception. She expressed:
"I leave everything to God. If he wants us to conceive again, then let it be."
The pregnant woman revealed that she's often judged for her choices but doesn't pay heed to criticism and feels blessed for her family. The Hernandez family has a large five-bedroom home, where the older kids have bunk beds, and the little ones have a nursery with cribs.
According to Patty, she and Carlos spend almost Β£780 (approximately $895) weekly on food, mainly school lunches. The couple is hopeful that after their 17th child, they will be blessed with another one.
While growing their family has been a thrilling experience, it has also led to more housework for Patty, who said she's been training the older children to chip in and has assigned them their daily chores.
The woman noted that she does laundry four times a week, has a thousand clothes to wash, and spends nearly five hours folding them every two days. Despite the struggles and criticism, Patty and Carlos love their beautiful family and wouldn't have it any other way.
We hope the Hernandez family continues to dote on their adorable children and lead a happy, healthy, and beautiful life together. Don't forget to share this story with your loved ones.

MTV launched reality TV royalty 16 and Pregnant nearly a decade ago, and it has grown into an empire.
This June, fans will have spent 10 whole years with the original cast of 16 and Pregnant, across different shows and permutations. They have also gotten to know many other young mothers, who rose to prominence in MTV's reality format .
The show has evolved a lot over the years, but it has never relinquished its hold over its dedicated audience. Over time, the show spawned several spin-offs, most of which are named Teen Mom.
There is no denying the massive cultural impact of the 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom franchises. When the original series first debuted in 2009, it was reviewed by The New York Times , and taken as a blistering cultural critique. The outlet called the show a "documentary-style series about real-life Juno s who are not scoring in the 99th percentile on the verbal portion of their SATs... despite its showcasing of the grim, hard work of single mothering ."
Over the years, Teen Mom has become much less lauded than that early appraisal. Many consider the series low-brow entertainment, or even a "guilty pleasure."
Whatever the case, 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom have left their mark on American culture and the TV landscape for good. Here is a look at all the spin-offs of 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom.
It all started with a documentary-style series in June of 2009 titled 16 and Pregnant . The show followed pregnant high school students through the dramatic journey to a teenage motherhood, with all the social, economic and ethical quandaries that that entails. At the time, the show was often related to the movie Juno , as a real-life counterpart to the indie dramady.
As soon as the first season of 16 and Pregnant was done, producers began filming the first iteration of Teen Mom . The show featured the Season 1 cast -- Farrah Abraham, Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell and Amber Portwood.
There were four seasons of Teen Mom from 2009 to 2012, tracing the lives of the docuseries stars in a more dramatic, reality TV style. The show returned in 2015, and has run three season so far. Last year, Abraham left the show for good. She was replaced by Bristol Palin, and the show later added Cheyenne Floyd as well.
Teen Mom 2 follows the cast of 16 and Pregnant Season 2. Today, it is nearly as popular and iconic as the original, with its cast logging 124 episodes of TV over the years. The show follows Kailyn Lowry, Leah Messer, Chelsea DeBoer and Jenelle Eason Evans, all of whom are now in their mid-twenties.
With the success of its predecessors, it was only natural that MTV would go for a trilogy with Teen Mom 3 . Tthe show was short-lived, running from August to November of 2013. Still, some of its stars found lasting success, with Briana DeJesus eventually joining the cast of Teen Mom 2.
Just last year MTV created a new spin-off titled Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant -- also stylized as Young + Pregnant . The show is something of a return to the original docuseries style of 16 and Pregnant , following a new batch of young mothers trying to make their way in the world. The second season is currently in production.
The U.K. was quick to pick up its own adaptation of Teen Mom in starting in 2016. The following year, MTV started airing the previous season in the U.S. under the title Teen Mum . The show has a more fluid cast than its original counterpart, with young moms coming and going more often between seasons. The most recent season wrapped up in October of 2018, and is expected to return for another season soon.
The Teen Mom franchise made it even further overseas, with a successful run in Poland. Teen Mom Poland followed young mothers, celebrating their perserverance through adversity and documenting their trials over the years. The show made it one season back in 2014.
Finally, in 2017 MTV canceled anoth
