If you have an Internet connection–and I'm assuming you do if you're reading this right now–you no doubt saw some of the backlash when photos were released earlier this week of Kim Kardashian channeling the late, great Audrey Hepburn . My first thought upon seeing them was, and I quote, "I quit this planet." So I GET it, folks. I get that it's a mind-boggling concept to compare someone of great humility, natural beauty, style prowess, and immense talent to, you know, Kim Kardashian. (I don't get all the uncomfortable body-shaming because Kim Kardashian is curvy and Audrey was not, but everything else, yes, I understand.)
But once I really thought it over, it stopped bothering me, because you know what? We are ALL Audrey Hepburn. You'd be hard-pressed to find a woman who hasn't channeled the classic star's style, just as you'd be hard-pressed to find a college freshmen who doesn't have that pink Breakfast at Tiffany's poster in her dorm room.
As a major Audrey admirer, and someone who describes her style as "an early '90s remake of Breakfast a Tiffany's directed by David Lynch," I present to you 10 different times Audrey Hepburn was reincarnated.
This one is obvious: Queen Bey originally did a take on Hepburn's 1957 film Funny Face . The cool thing about this is she keeps the all-black garb, but mixes it up with some sweet dance moves (Audrey's dance in the film is a little more…avant garde). Sadly, no Fred Astaire.
Sarah Jessica Parker at the Sex and the City: The Movie DVD Release
Carrie Bradshaw as Holly Golightly? Two idolized New York characters melding into one? There's a joke in there somewhere. Side note, I love SJP for going all out for every event—I feel like she has the same costumes-as-clothing mentality as I do. For the premiere before this, I'm pretty sure she dressed up as an acorn.
Jennifer Love Hewitt in The Audrey Hepburn Story
This happened. It was amazingly mediocre.
Anne Hathaway at the Academy Awards
And as Selina Kyle in The Dark Knight Rises –remember the airport scene? But comparisons were made between her and Hepburn when she won her first Oscar, probably because of the short hair more than anything. I'm sure this infuriated people more than the Kim incident did, because it was the year when everyone hated Anne Hathaway. Is that still going on, by the way?
Natalie Portman in This Weird Isaac Mizrahi Commercial from 1996
It's SO weird. She gives off Audrey vibes for the entire video, which I think actually works for Natalie Portman, but it's the why that I don't understand. Also she's in her early teens here, which is kind of off-putting. But then again, how many images have we seen online of toddlers in black dresses and big sunglasses? Approximately a gazillion.
If it brings comfort to anyone, Hepburn's name was desecrated by not one, but two Hilton sisters, way before Kim got around to it. I refuse to post the Paris picture, because it'll just throw me into a deep depression for weeks.
This one I love because I actually had breakfast at Sprinkles last month. Cupcakes are so much better than diamonds, anyway.
But ESPECIALLY here at the Los Angeles premiere of Abduction . With those eyebrows and midi bangs, she's Audrey's freaking doppelgänger. So jealous.
I have problems with My Fair Lady –I'm too much of a feminist to fully embrace it–but I love this Eliza Doolittle inspired get-up. It's L'Wren Scott, no less, and obviously no one but Nicole Kidman could carry it. Except, you know, Audrey herself.
Blair Waldorf in Every Other Episode of Gossip Girl
From Queen Bey to Queen B, nobody has channeled Audrey Hepburn like Blair Waldorf. Blair dreamed about being Audrey Hepburn, both figuratively and literally. And in those dreams we got to see her portray Audrey in everything from Roman Holiday , to My Fair Lady to Sabrina , and of course, Tiffany's . She wins the super fan award for sure.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Hepburn copycats. Inevitably, when you become an icon, people are quick to imitate, and imitation, of course, is the sincerest form of flattery. And with her humanitarian efforts, timeless sense of style, cinematic accomplishments, and graceful attitude, we'd all do a little better by channeling Audrey Hepburn.

We all love a good family sitcom and that’s exactly what makes Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing such a fave. The only downside is that the show’s producers seem to have a hard time retaining original cast members. For example, Molly Ephraim, who played Mandy Baxter failed to return to the set after the sixth season.
Honestly, it was quite a bummer to see the melodramatic fashionista recast. So, why did Molly Ephraim leave Last Man Standing, and just where did she go to?
Last Man Standing was one of ABC’s highest-rated sitcoms. It, therefore, came as a surprise when fans heard that the network had canceled the show after just six seasons. Thankfully, 20 th Century Fox came to the rescue and picked up the show for a seventh and eighth season.
Seeing our favorite family back on screen was definitely a relief. However, one face was conspicuously missing—that of Molly Ephraim who played the ditzy Mandy Baxter. In her stead was Molly McCook, who we can’t help but notice doesn’t resemble Ephraim in the least.
This wasn’t the first time the main cast members had been replaced. Early fans of the show will remember that Alexander Krosney, who played Kristen Baxter, the oldest of Mike Baxter’s three daughters, was swapped for Amanda Fuller in season 2.
So, why did Molly Ephraim stop featuring on the popular family sitcom?
Well, according to show producers, the talented actress moved on to other gigs after ABC said it wouldn’t renew Last Man Standing after the sixth season.
When Fox swooped in a year later in 2017, it was a little too late to get Ephraim to pick up from where she had left off in her role as Mandy Baxter. Her numerous screen engagements meant she simply couldn’t be available to film the sitcom. This left the producers with no choice but to look for a replacement.
So, that’s how Molly McCook replaced Molly Ephraim. Apart from being namesakes (coincidence much?), the two actresses don’t really have much in common, at least where physical appearances are concerned. One obvious distinction is that McCook is blonde while Ephraim is a brunette. Of course, fans would notice the stark difference and the producers say they were ready for a backlash.
I love that @LastManStanding is back on, but I want the real Mandy back! #NotMyMandy
According to the producers, the decision to pick McCook was intentional— they didn’t want to seem like they had tried too hard to doppelgänger Ephraim, who they say is actually a difficult actor to duplicate. Looks like fans were left with no choice but to just go with the flow and get used to McCook as the new Mandy Baxter.
Let’s just say Molly’s been keeping busy, which is definitely a good thing. Most recently, she appeared on Jason Reitman’s, The Front Runner , a bibliographical film based on former US Senator Gary Hart’s scandalous presidential bid in 1988. In the film, she portrays Irene Kelley, Hart’s campaign planner.
Her other gigs include recurring roles on the IFC drama-comedy, Brockmire (2017) , where she features alongside Hollywood A-listers Hank Azaria and Amanda Peet. Ephraim also plays Alexa Vonn on season 4 of the drama series Halt and Catch Fire (2017) where she appears in five recurrent episodes.
Molly’s TV chops don’t end there. We further see her portrayed as Jess in the Hulu comedy, Casual (2018), where she appears in cameos in three episodes.
By the look of things, there are still plenty of ways to catch up with Ephraim despite her leaving the Baxter family behind. We certainly can’t wait to see what her next move will be!
