April showers mean...April babies! Even if the weather outside is dreary and drizzly, April babies are like little rays of sunshine peeking through the clouds. Here are a few fun facts about your April baby and their birth month…
If your baby is born between April 1 st and April 19 th , they will be an Aries (represented by the ram). If they arrive after April 19 th , they’ll be a Taurus (represented by the bull).
Aries are known for being fiery, passionate go-getters. They tend to leap first and look second (so that could explain a daredevil streak during the toddler years!). The first sign of the zodiac, Aries are natural-born leaders who thrive on competition…and love to win. But these high-achievers play hard too, making them lots of fun to be around.
Babies born under the Taurus astrological sign are thought to be determined, sensible, and have a taste for the finer things in life (think: decadent food, soothing sounds, lush design). Their steady personality makes them dependable…but it can sometimes make them inflexible, too (uh-oh!). Still Taurus babies are likely to grow up to become loyal friends those around them will treasure!
April babies’ birthstone—the diamond!—is as sparkly as your little one is. Diamonds symbolize clarity and strength. In fact, the word diamond comes from the Greek word “adamas,” which means “unbreakable”—perfect for your ready-to-take-on-the-world April baby.

Your April baby may take a half-glass-full outlook on life! People with an excessively positive attitude were more likely to be born in spring and summer than other months, according to European research . The study’s authors believe this could be the result of birth season affecting mood-influencing neurotransmitters. Bring on the sunshine!
Researchers at Columbia University found that being born in certain months—including April—was linked to decreased disease risk. The study’s authors suspect their findings might have to do with the specific environment they’re born into, which can be impacted by seasonal allergens as well as vitamin D exposure. But they were quick to note that there are lots of other factors that influence health too (including diet and exercise)…so an April birthday isn’t an automatic get-out-of-the-doctor-free card.
Your little one is unlikely to need to share the limelight on their birthday because April birthdays are not super common. Only two April birthdates made their way into the top 200 most popular birthdays (April 4 th at 144 th and April 11 th at 189 th ), while 11 landed below 300. The least popular April birthday? The first (maybe because not too many moms and dads are keen on scheduling an induction or c-section on April Fool’s Day!)
Could the letters C - E - O appear at the top of your April baby’s resume someday? Science says…possibly! Babies born in March and April were more likely to become CEOs than those born in other months, according to research published in the journal Economic Letters .
While certain birth months have been associated with certain career paths—at least according to one study that found January babies are more likely to be general practitioners, for example—April babies don’t seem to be destined for one particular vocation. We’ll take that as a sign that their options are endless!
