Always some good snow and plenty to go at on a massive area. I went to flaine a couple of years ago for a ski weekend. We did a DIY trip and booked at la foret pierres vacances I think. We had a good dump of snow and it ended up being one of my favourite ski breaks. We had done the big holiday earlier in the year with all the apres and partying, and te flaine trip was perfect as we just did lots of great ski and chilled in the evening. The ski area is great, and that accomodation has everything you need- shop, boot room and pretty much walk out straight to piste. Apres is quite, and if apres is deciding factor go to Tignes.
