Local High School Football Star Lajohntay Wester Commits to Top College Program

Springfield, TX – April 27, 2025

In a highly anticipated announcement, Springfield High School’s standout wide receiver Lajohntay Wester revealed his commitment to the University of Texas Longhorns, choosing them over multiple powerhouse programs, including Alabama, Ohio State, and LSU.

Wester, a 5-star recruit and the No. 1 wide receiver in the 2025 class, has been a dominant force on the field, amassing over 2,500 receiving yards and 32 touchdowns in his high school career. His electrifying speed, precise route-running, and clutch performances have drawn comparisons to NFL stars like Tyreek Hill and Stefon Diggs.

'I’m blessed to have this opportunity, and I’m ready to work,' Wester said at a press conference surrounded by family and teammates. 'Coach Sark [Steve Sarkisian] has a great vision for the program, and I want to help bring a national championship back to Texas.'
