In 1790, the Saget family embarked upon a long history dedicated to vines and wine, firmly placing Saget among just a handful of estates that can enjoy their third successive century of business. Generations of our family have worked to create our signature Saget La Perrière wines- melding the perfect balance, a blend of richness and elegance via the meticulous selection of grapes, expertly crafted by our skilled winemakers for the La Petite Perrière wines. The new designation of Vin de France offered us the opportunity to explore and discover the ideal balance between the fruitiness of those varieties grown in the south and their acidity when produced in the northern region (Loire) and thus La Petite Perrière wines were created. The Vin de France designation is utilized for the entire La Petite Perrière range. Through our extensive experience with Sauvignon Blanc, the master of the Loire Valley, we have been able to explore and express this grape varietal’s many facets and full potential. Our skilled wine-makers have gone to great lengths to secure the best Sauvignon Blancs in France in order to expertly craft a wine with perfect balance, a blend of richness and elegance. La Petite Perrière Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from our own estate vineyards in the Loire and our long-term partners in the South of France.
All Saget La Perriere vineyards are certified HVE3 which encourages vineyards to focus on increasing biodiversity, decreasing the negative environmental impact of their phytosanitary strategy, managing their fertilizer inputs and improving water management.
Grapes are mechanically harvested in the middle of September. After pressing, the must is clarified for 24 hours. Once decanted, wine ferments for 8 days in stainless steel vats at 68°F. Special yeasts are added (NT116 & FW), selected for their pure Sauvignon Blanc characteristics. After the alcoholic fermentation, wine is racked and aged on fine lees. The wine is ready to be bottled very early (January/February) and sold immediately for optimal freshness.
A shining Sauvignon with sharp green brightness. The nose is elegant without over-exuberance, a fair and harmonious expression of white flowers, elderflowers and acacia, balanced with a light minerality. After a silky attack, the middle of the palate wakes up in a pleasant freshness, finishing with fruity notes of white peaches and lychees.

The Saget family has great respect for the history and identity of La Perrière and decided to turn it into a temple dedicated to the Sauvignon blanc and Pinot noir grape varieties. In so doing, it aims to unravel and reveal the mysteries they hold within them, drawing its inspiration from different generations and developing in-depth knowledge of the Central Loire grape varieties. Their knowledge of Sauvignon blanc and Pinot noir has therefore naturally led them to explore every aspect of the varietals and fully reveal their potential. The Saget family thus set off in search of the finest Sauvignon blancs and Pinot noirs, armed with both passion and rigour. Their painstaking selection coupled with wine growing expertise have produced wines showing impeccable balance, combining richness and elegance. La Perrière creation wines exemplify a straightforward approach to grape varieties, as evidenced by one of the house’s flagship labels, La Petite Perrière. The Classics on the other hand demonstrate the purity and minerality of terroir-driven Sauvignon blanc and Pinot noir from appellations whilst the Icons – namely the Mégalithe & Sacrilège labels – take the grape varieties into the realms of age-worthy fine wines.
Located in a natural cave, La Perrière is a unique location hewn out of the rock by the forces of nature 200 million years ago. La Perrière has shown itself to be the perfect place to mature wines from Pinot noir and Sauvignon blanc and allow them to fully reveal their rich personality.
La Petite Perrière’s inception stems from the Sauvignon blanc and Pinot noir grape varieties. In just a few years, it has secured a place as one of Saget La Perrière key labels. The basic tenet behind La Petite Perrière is creating accessible yet serious wines that can be enjoyed by all.
