Krysten Ritter Set to Direct and Star in New Psychological Thriller 'The Last Reflection'

Los Angeles, March 27, 2025 – Krysten Ritter, best known for her roles in Jessica Jones and Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, is stepping back into the director’s chair for an upcoming psychological thriller titled The Last Reflection. The project, which Ritter will also star in, has been picked up by Netflix after a competitive bidding war.

According to insiders, The Last Reflection follows a successful but troubled artist (played by Ritter) who begins to question her reality after discovering eerie, unexplained details in her own paintings. Described as a mix of Black Swan and The Girl on the Train, the film will explore themes of identity, obsession, and fractured perception.

This marks Ritter’s second directorial effort following her well-received 2022 debut, She’s My Little Girl, a dark comedy she also wrote and produced. In a statement, Ritter expressed her excitement: 'This story has been haunting me for years. It’s a deeply personal exploration of how we see ourselves versus how the world sees us—and what happens when those visions don’t align.'

Netflix has slated the film for a late 2026 release, with production expected to begin this fall. Fans of Ritter’s work in Jessica Jones are particularly eager to see her return to a darker, more intense role.

Ritter has also been rumored to be in talks for a Marvel Cinematic Universe comeback, though neither she nor Disney has confirmed those reports. For now, all eyes are on The Last Reflection as Ritter continues to prove her versatility both in front of and behind the camera.
