Three teens face charges over the horrific attack in Gulfport, Mississippi, USA, and cops expect more arrests to follow
THREE teenagers are facing kidnapping and sexual assault charges after a video was streamed on Facebook Live appearing to show a woman being beaten and forced to perform oral sex.
The 15-minute, expletive-laden clip starts inside a bathroom, with a man standing over a woman as he demands that she perform oral sex on him, the New York Post reports.
At one point during the footage, a female voice can be heard saying the victim would not be going home until she performed oral sex.
A voice says: “She ain’t going home … until her throat swell up.”
After that, a woman can be seen beating the victim as the others laugh and egg her on, shouting “don’t break it up”.
The original video had been deleted, but not before another Facebook user brought it to the attention of cops, telling them: “This is gut-wrenchingly horrific. It's really, really, bad.”
Cops then responded to the home in Gulfport, Mississippi, USA, late on Tuesday.
Some Facebook users said the victim has special needs, although this has not yet been verified.
Gulfport Police Chief Leonard Papania said those claims would be investigated and said additional charges of abusing a vulnerable adult would be filed if confirmed.
Haleigh Alexis Hudson, 19, surrendered to police late Wednesday on charges of kidnapping and sexual assault.
Two other suspects, Ezzie Johnson and Kadari Fabien Booker, both 17, were arrested hours later on charges of kidnapping and kidnapping and sexual assault, respectively, the Sun Herald reports.
Johnson – who allegedly recorded the sexual and physical assault of the 23-year-old woman at Hudson’s home before posting it online – will be charged as an adult, Papania told reporters during a press conference Wednesday.
Investigators believe Johnson and Hudson knew the victim prior to the alleged assault. Additional arrests are expected, police said.
The video has since been removed from Facebook.
But at least one version of the harrowing clip had been shared more than 1,500 times and garnered more than 84,000 views as of Thursday.
Papania told reporters before Wednesday’s arrests: “Once again, we are witnessing the dark side of social media.
“These warrants demonstrate our belief about these three individuals and their criminal acts.
“However, I can’t help but be disturbed by the incredible number of shares and views of this crude and despicable event … It speaks loudly about our culture.”
And Papania echoed this belief, telling reporters he expects the disturbing pattern to continue.
He said: “I wish people would look at just how warped our society has become.
“We videotape pain and suffering, then we share it and we view it over and over.
“And I don’t doubt this story will be dead in two days and everybody [will] move on to something else and you still have a victim of a crime.”

Channel 5's Snatched and Sold for Sex reveals how Sunny Angel was chillingly taken from her own home by a captor who still remains at large
Sunny Angel was just 17 year old when she was snatched from the streets of leafy Surrey by a stalker and raped 'countless times' in a 'torture house'.
For six terrifying months she was held captive in a remote country house where her tormentor inflicted serious physical harm and used her as a sex slave.
"He'd make me do all sorts of disgusting things, watching porn, being really subservient to him. I call it the torture house because of the things he'd do to me," she told last night's Channel 5 documentary Snatched and Sold for Sex.
"He'd put cigarettes out on my back, he'd cut me, he used glass, he would whip me with his leather-belt.
"I was kept in that room for six months and he raped me countless times, hundreds and hundreds of times."
Now aged 41, Sunny revealed how her stalker first approached her in a park on a Saturday morning and sinisterly told her he'd been following her for a year.
Later that day he telephoned her house and told her to look outside, where he stood with a lighter. He threatened to burn down her house down if she didn't follow his orders.
"I said I'd do whatever he wanted me to do because I wanted to protect my family," she explained.
Next, he insisted on walking her to work every day and said he would harm her family if she told anyone.
She tried to tell the police, but at that time, 1997, stalking still wasn't illegal and nothing could be done. It would be outlawed later that year.
"Nobody at work questioned what was going on, I just covered it up," she said.
"I just became very quiet at work. I was really frightened. I kept losing who I was. He said I was his property and he could do whatever he wanted with me."
With Sunny firmly under his control, he demanded she move in with him and drove her to a remote house in the countryside where the windows were boarded up and there was only a bed and TV in the room.
He told her he had a "fixation with virgins" and that she was going to be his "ninth".
What followed was six months of hell, with Sunny never knowing when he would visit to beat or rape her. Once he was done, he said, he planned to sell her on to other abusers.
"It was just horrific," she recalled. "I kept trying to kill myself. I was begging him to kill me. Every rape, every time he tortured me, I just wanted it to end."
Then one day her chance to escape came out of the blue - he had left the keys behind the front door.
But despite bolting, he tracked her down and raped her again in the car for "the last time". She tried to kill herself and woke up in hospital.
Whilst there, he called her and said, "You can't even kill yourself can you. I've had my fill with you, look at the state of you."
Horrifyingly, he was never prosecuted, having skipped bail over credit card fraud before disappearing entirely.

It was three days before Frida Farrell, then 22, was able to escape her captor
BUDDING actress Frida Farrell had moved to London to launch her career - little did she know that an innocent chat with a man on the street would have a horrifying impact on the rest of her life.
Then 22, she was lured into a five-storey building on the capital's glossy Harley Street, believing she'd be taking part in a photoshoot for a holiday brochure.
But as she entered the flat, her captor slammed the door behind her, locked it and pulled out a knife.
What followed was a three day ordeal in which Frida was drugged and forced to have sex with at least eight men. Luckily she managed to escape after her captor forgot to lock the door.
Now 38 and a single mum, Frida says modern slavery "happens all the time" to "normal" girls just like her.
"If I say ‘sex slavery victim’ to you – you have an image in your head," she told the Huffington Post .
"But any woman or any girl could be kidnapped and put into this situation. Anyone is for sale, you’re just a body.
“They don’t care where you’re from or what you look like. I was just a normal girl, I was like anyone else in my class. It happened to me because I was walking home that night."
It's now been 16 years since Swedish-born Frida's horrifying ordeal - and she says the problem is worse than ever.
In October we reported there were 212 active investigations into modern sex slavery in the UK underway - with thousands of women like Frida being kept against their will in ordinary houses on ordinary streets.
Last year, a staggering five million girls across the globe were sex trafficked.
"It was the most chilling time of my life," Frida recalled.
"In movies you see girls screaming and crying but that is not what happens.
"When you are standing in front of a man who is much bigger than you holding a hunting knife you want to make yourself as small and quiet as possible. I just froze. I remember asking to go to the toilet as I thought I was going to lose control of my bowels."
Once inside the bathroom, Frida told how she tried to squeeze herself out of the laptop-sized window before remembering she was five storeys up.
She recalled thinking: “I’m not going to survive that fall and if I did I would break a lot of bones. What’s worse, the knife or the fall?”
Remarkably she decided to stay calm and feign stomach ache, at which point her captor offered her a glass of milk which she knew was spiked with drugs.
She said: "I just looked at him and knew he had, and he knew that I knew, but I just thought I’m going to drink it. I don’t want to feel the knife, I’d rather just drink it."
Frida was then ordered to put on some used underwear before she passed out.
Over the next few days she was held in a small, basement flat with barred windows while male "customers" came and went. She estimates there were more than eight but less than 20 paid to have sex with her.
On the fourth night of her ordeal she made a run for it after her captor - who went by the name of Peter - accidentally left the door open.
When she got outside she ran as fast as she could, then got a taxi to her friend's place.
"I felt so embarrassed afterwards that at first, I didn't want to tell anyone," she admitted.
"It took me four days to contact the police. As the days passed, I just felt like I couldn't explain what I'd been through to my boyfriend, so I avoided him until he realised I didn't want to see him again.
"He still doesn't know why I ended it so abruptly, all these years later."
In the months following her ordeal Frida suffered nightmares and panic attacks, some so bad that her whole body convulsed with the shakes.
"My legs and arms would start shaking when I thought about it," she recalled.
"One time I had to pull over in the car as couldn’t drive."
Frida, who now lives in LA with her one-year-old daughter, Mia Rose, has decided to turn her experience into a film, Apartment 407 – in which she stars – in a bid to raise awareness of the plight of those caught up in modern slavery, whether domestic or sexual.
"We set the film in a nondescript city, because it could be anywhere," she explained.
"Slavery happens in all the big cities - and small ones too. We live in our bubble of the nice bit we’re in, going to our job, meeting friends.
"But under the surface, people are being exploited in the most horrible way, and it is not just people you assume are vulnerable.
"I was a nice girl from a good home and it happened to me."
