Cover art, and not solely the content of a film, is an important aspect to JAV production, as an ugly or poorly-made cover could drastically reduce the sales of a work as it could be the determining factor of whether or not a consumer empties their wallet. This ranking will discuss what I believe to be the most abhorrent JAV covers ever, whether it be due to the excessive usage of text, ugly imagery, or abysmal Photoshopping.
This cover doesn’t have anything in particular that’s offensive, but it is overwhelmingly uninspired. The point of a cover is for it to entice, intrigue, and tempt the observer into making a purchase, but this cover fails to do any of this. The premise of the film is rather simple and thus the cover is to an extent understandable, but all it is is the actress sitting on a normal bed. The back cover at least compensates by offering some more sexual shots. The AV itself is rather decent and focuses on POV, making use of mostly vanilla fetishes.
The AV’s 2+ hour duration has watchers witnessing 2 steamy sex scenes, a footjob sequence, a moment where oral takes place, and a scene dedicated to solo masturbation. This variety, coupled with the good lightning (which is effective when it comes to accentuating the woman) and cute actress, makes for a pretty entertaining experience. The actress and both her expressiveness and energy definitely also help to elevate the AV’s quality.
I have great resentment for covers that have an indescribable urge to cover every inch of space with text, most of which is completely unnecessary. With the title and synopsis available, why would any other text be needed on the cover? If they had removed most of the annoying text, there could have been enough room to add in another photo of the actress. All that was required was to have actress Yumi Kazama in a swimsuit standing in front of a DVD store, but even this was too difficult for them.
The erotic video is a fan thanksgiving type film where Yumi Kazama travels to meet her fans at their abode and at a DVD store. The only positive trait of the movie is Kazama’s stupendous performance, as her body and appearance seems to have suffered in recent years. The sex itself is definitely underwhelming and is even botched by some incredibly hideous censoring. The DVD store scene for instance has everything censored except for Yumi and the body of the actor. Aside from that complete disaster, the other scenes are rather average and forgettable.
I’ve mentioned my distaste for licking-centric adult videos on previous occasions, and the same applies here. Witnessing two males slobbering all over the actress’ face like a puppy is far from erotic and seductive. Akari’s uncomfortable expression adds to the overall disturbing nature of the cover and even the back cover has the poor woman being treated like a lollipop. I can’t comprehend the appeal of such a fetish and I find it revolting, with my opinion also applying to the AV itself.
In the span of its 2+ hour duration, there are only roughly 15 minutes worth of sex, while the rest of the work is handjobs, solo masturbation, and 20 minutes of licking the actress and her face. Every other scene also has significant tongue-based shenanigans as well, in addition to kissing. The production values exude an aura of cheapness and both the lighting and set designs are poor. The performance of the actress is hardly any better as she assumes a more submissive role, which she is not as good at.
Only a mere glance at this cover is enough to inform the viewer what exactly is wrong with this one, as it has even achieved meme status within the JAV community. The actress and her bald head is by far, the worst turn-off, and while it might perhaps be enticing for those who enjoy the lack of hair, I however find it absurd. The back cover doesn’t fair any better, and while the cover does in fact attract attention, it is not for a positive reason.
Actress Yui plays a married woman who has all her bodily hair removed and then has sex, with there likely being at least a little more depth but I wasn’t able to focus as the movie overall is unpleasant. Only one scene is alright, but the others are agonizing, such as the one with the actress fingering the male actor’s anus or the scene where she is being penetrated whilst having her hair cut. Those with a taste for humiliation might perhaps enjoy what is on offer, but anyone else will probably find it distasteful.
There may be some individuals with a preference for this main fetish, but I’m not one such person. While I can comprehend why some admire it, the appeal of watching an attractive woman have sex with a less than presentable actor is rather niche. The cover does an efficient job of emphasizing the allure of actress Tia, but the other grotesque males on the cover are an immediate eyesore. The back cover is even worse as it has one of them spitting into her mouth.
The male actors can be seen indulging in every part of Tia’s body in the video, and though I find it sickening, those with a fetish for such a sight will probably find it top notch. The sex is rather standard but nothing spectacular, with there being 2 full ones and the orgy being my most preferred. Other moments involve a handjob scene and another where the actress urinates on one of the men and outright humiliates him by abusing him and making him sample his own semen. Pacing is also an issue as the aforementioned scene is a grueling 40 minutes.
Multiple issues exist for this cover, from the misspelling of the word “teasing” to the background being the same color as the actress’s flesh. The purple font is a nice touch as it compliments the wig of the actress, but most of the cover is a disaster. The most heinous crime is the Photoshopping of the woman’s face, however, as she is made to look like a male.
The erotic work is better than the cover as the premise is rather straightforward. Most of the sex is vanilla as the main woman slips into different cosplay outfits and performs all sorts of perverted deeds in a hotel room. While nothing really stands out, the outfits are rather commendable and the sex is decent, with there being a three-way and some handjob action. Aika’s acting only further elevates the whole work as she is dominant and takes control of every scene with eagerness.
Any cover from this AV series would have sufficed for this entry, as each one is just as deplorable as the last. It goes without saying, but half the cover’s real estate being taken up by the male actor’s gross behind is the epitome of unappealing. The beautiful artwork is besmirched by this buttocks and it makes one wonder who exactly would want to see such a thing. The butt is even scattered throughout the back cover. While it makes sense why the man’s posterior is in view due to the main focal position of the AV, the execution is clearly lacking.
Though the cover is horrid, the AV is equally so as actress Chinami plays a gyaru schoolgirl type role and is repeatedly violated. The missionary position and internal ejaculations are the dominant fetish of the Japanese adult video, and while the sex can be pretty astounding, the film’s submissive nature is a big negative aspect. The final scene features a man named “Taku” and his scenes are mostly licking and kissing, that combined with the constant butt shots on the male actors, the AV is mediocre at best.
Such a revered actress as Hitomi being depicted in such a way is quite appalling. I knew right away when writing this article that this cover was an absolute must, as the way she looks tied up (especially her bosom) with the ropes is unsightly. As for the film’s plot, it involves Hitomi acquiring a “bondage coach” so she can learn to deal with the fetish better.
The AV is hardly any more tolerable than the cover as the ropes ruin pretty much the entire work. They’re unappealing and constrict the actress on both the physical and acting level. Such ropes are almost always used in these darker and moodier AVs and I just don’t prefer it. Hitomi acts rather submissively and whiny in the movie aside from the final scene, which is not as bad as she actually enjoys herself. While the film is well-produced and shot, it is not enough to cancel out the gross rope and stupid concept.
This cover does a phenomenal job of being original and catching a person’s attention for sure, but I label this as the epitome of unappealing. Some might like it simply for its sheer absurdity, but that is a group I don’t fall into. The actress herself is pretty grisly to look at, especially the one shot on the back cover where her teeth are missing, and none of the other actresses are sadly any better. The green body paint is also quite grotesque and it doesn’t induce any form of joy in me.
The pornographic aspect of the AV is an atrocity. The plot has a group of explorers traveling to an island to produce a documentary about the mythological “kappa”, a green, human-like creature with webbed hands and a turtle-like shell. The explorers eventually find a few and have intercourse with them, and while the concept itself is rather unique and entertaining, almost everything else is despicable. The actresses, their performance, the slightly unbalanced pacing and even the group sex. This is one legend that is best left forgotten.
This AV has the most detestable cover art I’ve ever seen for a JAV. Funny enough, this whole label from Prestige studio is the exact same as each entry has a similarly horrible cover. The text scrawled all over the front of the cover makes for a huge tangled mess – its in the left corner, the front cover and even all over the back. Even the photo used of the actress is boring, ultimately making for an overall awful cover.
There is no real plot for the film as its mostly a one-on-one movie that focuses on the sex in a hotel room. The camerawork is done mostly through handheld and static cameras, making it amateurish, and overall the production is plain and dull. The actress is forgettable, the pacing is slow and the sex is average as there are 2 scenes and an uninteresting masturbation-type scene. The movie itself is just completely reprehensible and the only good thing about it is that it goes hand in hand with the worst cover ever.

Exactly This! I would say 4 instead of 10 as I feel the spit image doesn’t work well here. 10 is fine just a bit boring. Some others could be there for stuff like their text usage.
Overall the article is kind of shit. The guy leads with what sounds like your going to be objective with stuff like photoshopping and over use of text but says, “I don’t like this because rope.” I don’t care that you don’t I might.

Most of these would definitely server to encourage people to buy it. Like with 3 what do they just want Hitomi looking hot on the cover and otherwise completely lie to them about the contents? This cover actually works really well to illustrate the contents of the AV in a relatively tasteful way (considering the contents) that would be quite appealing to people who like that fetish. Same for most of these
could be a top 100s list for all I care. none of these are appetizing because of the shitty mosaic censors. seriously japan?! the internet is made for porn, it’s not a secret what’s down there between women’s legs.
