Introducing Permaban

It's been awesome to see how features like /restrict have been used - the feedback I've gotten has been great and led to many improvements, thank you.

Sometimes you need to do more than just restrict someone, in such cases you can ban them. Normally this is enough.

But the problem with banning is that there is no distinction between the people who you just want to ban (like someone who advertised some crappy game bot), or the people who you never want to see again (like the ones who spam illegal content).

/permaban solves this.

With /permaban it's now easy for high-ranking admins to permanently ban malicious users from ever joining your group ever again. Even if another admin unbans them by accident.

Only the group Creator or Admins with the "Add new Admins" permission can use /permaban

Here's what the typical flow looks like:

Due to the severity, permabanning requires two-step confirmation.

If the user is unbanned by an admin, and then tries to re-join they will be re-banned:

As long as @CalsiBot is in the group and an Admin, it's impossible for permabanned users to re-join your group

In the future, there will be ways to "un-permaban" users. But for now, there is no way to do this. So be careful.

That's all for now! Thank you for reading. You can join CalsiBot's channel to keep up with updates here:
