Harry Styles is making light of a spit-ty situation.
At the "As it Was" singer's Madison Square Garden concert Wednesday night, Styles joked about the viral video footage dividing the internet following Don't Worry Darling 's Venice Film Festival premiere: did he or did he not spit on costar Chris Pine ? (Pine's rep previously told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement that the idea of Styles spitting on Pine was "ridiculous.")
During Styles' concert set, the singer and actor, 28, joked that he "just popped very quickly to Venice to spit on Chris Pine," according to multiple fan videos . After the remark, the crowd erupted in applause.
Shortly following Monday's Don't Worry Darling premiere, internet users ran with the idea that Styles spit on costar Pine when he bent down to take his seat next to the actor, 42.
Pine was notably seated to the left of the movie's director, Styles' girlfriend Olivia Wilde .
As the "Watermelon Sugar" singer made his way over to Pine, his lips can be seen moving before Pine quickly looks down and stops clapping — which some believed was him acknowledging that the singer had just spit.
On Tuesday, Pine's rep told PEOPLE : "This is a ridiculous story — a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation."

"Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine," the rep continued. "There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist."

Over the past several weeks, the movie — starring Styles and Florence Pugh , 26, as a 1950s California couple living in a strange planned suburban community — has been in the headlines for behind-the-scenes turmoil.
Director and costar Wilde said in a recent Variety interview that she fired original star Shia LaBeouf , who was to play Styles' role. However, LaBeouf shot back in an email to Variety , saying he "quit the film due to lack of rehearsal time."

Ricky Martin has filed a $20 million lawsuit against the nephew who accused him of sexual assault, a rep for the singer and actor confirmed to TheWrap on Wednesday.
The lawsuit, which was filed in San Juan, Puerto Rico, alleges that Dennis Yadiel Sánchez is trying to “assassinate [Martin’s] reputation and integrity,” and that the accusations were made “maliciously, without any probable cause, with serious disregard for the truth and knowing that they were false.”
In July, Sánchez filed a restraining order against Martin, claiming that he’d had a seven-month incestuous relationship with his Grammy-winning uncle, who he further claimed was now stalking and harassing him. Martin denied the shocking allegations and his nephew withdrew his claims, “admitt[ing] under oath that he had never been sexually assaulted by Plaintiff.”
Per the lawsuit, Sánchez has continued his campaign of harassment, including posting Martin’s private cell phone number on social media and creating an Instagram account for one of Martin’s underage children.
The suit, which refers to Sánchez as a “maladjusted individual,” is seeking $20 million as recompense for lost multi-million deals and damage to Martin’s reputation.
Martin, who now feels “unsafe” in his home country of Puerto Rico, also wants Sanchez to be banned from communicating with him and his family, “either personally, by telephone and/or through social networks.”

If you’ve been monitoring Twitter trends over the last few days then you would have noticed an overwhelming amount of memes about internet-famous Chris Chan escaping from jail. Well, let’s just say don’t believe everything you read on the internet… especially if it’s in the form of a meme.
As per Insider , the internet star was arrested and incarcerated at the Central Virginia Regional Jail in Orange, Virginia, on charges of incest in August 2021 (the factual bit).
However, following a lack of updated news on Chris’ case, the internet decided to throw the 40-year-old’s name back into the limelight through a collection of memes that joke about an escape from jail (the untrue bit).
Christine Weston Chandler, better known as Chris Chan, is an American YouTuber, internet star and musician from Charlottesville, Virginia.
The 40-year-old goes by the name CwcvilleGuardian on YouTube, where she has almost 60,000 followers and also has an Instagram profile .
She created the webcomic series Sonichu, which she began posting in 1999. The character is a combination of the Pokémon Pikachu and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Chris, who initially identified as male, launched her YouTube channel in 2007 and later came out as a transgender woman in 2016.
Chris was arrested outside a hotel in Charlottesville in August 2021 and initially held at the Henrico County Jail, Insider reports.
She was arrested on August 1st and charged with incest after an audio recording alleged she had sexual relations with her 79-year-old mother.
In a statement to Newsweek , Henrico County Sheriff Alisa Gregory said: “Christine Weston Chandler is currently being held in our Jail West facility on one count of incest and awaiting arraignment in Greene County, Virginia.”
She did not comment any further on the criminal charges and said Greene County was just “housing” the internet star until transport could be arranged.
In August 2022, an unfounded rumor claiming that Chris had escaped from the Central Virginia Regional Jail started to brew on Twitter. The viral tweet currently has 960,000 views and 62,000 likes, which proved the catalyst to a wave of memes .
However, both the initial rumor and following memes are baseless and there is no proof of Chris escaping jail.
As per Newsweek , Chris was being held at the Central Virginia Regional Jail without bond and was due in court on September 16th, 2021. However, since then, the case has become sealed due to the intense interest about Chris.
HITC reached out to Chris’ attorney for comment, who also confirmed that they were “unaware from any source that Ms. Chandler ‘escaped'”.
