Cold City and Hot War second editions are twin RPGs that explore hidden agendas, trust, and relationships during an alternative Cold War and its terrifying ultimate conclusion. Our crowdfunding campaign to raise funds is now closed, raising £61,790 from 767 backers, and receiving an arts grant from Creative Scotland.
Hot War is the followup/sister game to Cold City. It takes place in Britain in 1963, one year after the Cuban Missile Crisis goes horribly wrong due to the fielding of Twisted Technology instead of nuclear armaments.
Fans of rules-lite mechanics will likely find Hot War to be quite enjoyable, as the game handles everything in an abstract but functional manner. Those who would like an apocalyptic setting that's more plausible and realistic may also find Hot War fun, as the supernatural elements are easily ignored or removed entirely.

The various world powers go hot with weaponized Mythos stuff and Nazi technology, and royally screw the world.
In Cold City you have 'the Cold', which is the overarching presence and influence of 'the Cold War'. In Hot War you have 'Breakdown', the creeping decay of society in the aftermath of nuclear war.
