Gideon Swartzentruber, 20, was caught in the act with the animal by his boss and fired - he now faces jail time
A man who admitted to having sex with a donkey at a barn where he worked told police he went "crazy" and his "privates were out of control".
Gideon Swartzentruber was caught in the act with the animal by his boss and fired, according to a criminal complaint.
The 20-year-old has been charged with one misdemeanour count of sexual gratification with an animal, court records show.
Investigators in Neillsville, Wisconsin, said the farm worker was initially reluctant to talk about it, but admitted to the act in an interview with a detective.
The officer wrote: "Sometime before noon on September 1, Swartzentruber was working in a Neillsville barn when he encountered a female donkey and briefly had sex with it.
“He said that he kind of touched the donkey and was playing around being crazy.”
When asked why he had intercourse with the donkey, Swartzentruber said his “privates were out of control” and that he “got crazy and carried away”, according to the report.
Swartzentruber, due in court on September 30, said he did not hurt the donkey and that this was the first time “he had done anything like that”.
The donkey’s owner caught Swartzentruber in the act, according to police.
The identity of the owner and Swartzentruber's place of employment are presently blacked out in records from Clark County Circuit Court.
The Marshfield News Herald reports that if convicted, Swartzentruber faces up to nine months in jail and a $10,000 fine.
