Google Search console latest news update
Google Search Console has been updated with a new kind of filter that allows site owners to separate impressions and traffic produced through using the News tab.
As with other search type filters available in Search Console, the one that is being introduced can be accessed via the Performance Report which contains all of the website's Google information about traffic.
The performance report's data can be filtered according to various dimensions.
One of these dimensions is "Search Type," which refers to the various tabs that appear beneath"Search Bar.
Search Console does not support all types of search, but Google is slowly expanding its support as time goes by.
With the introduction of News The following search types are included within the Performance Report:
Google claims that its ability to block traffic data in its News tab is something that's been often demanded by webmasters.
There hasn't been a way for Search Console users to isolate or analyze information originating through the tab for news.
Now, it's possible to analyze the data in its entirety or even compare it to a distinct collection of data.
It's important to know that groups of data based on various search types aren't accepted.
This means that you cannot mix data to get Web + News results.
Google states that this is due to the fact that the result layouts of pages are different for every search type.
A result that is in the 30th position in search results for images could remain on the first result page, but a result that is ranked 30 on web results would appear on the 3rd page.
Due to the different layouts of the search results pages because of the layout differences, each data kind is kept for each search type separately.
A URL could be displayed in both news and web news results, however, the impression, click, and location data of the website are separately recorded for news searches and web results.
