Eiza González Stars in New Action Thriller 'Shadow Protocol'

Los Angeles, April 27, 2025 – Mexican actress and global superstar Eiza González has landed her next high-octane role in Shadow Protocol, an upcoming spy thriller from acclaimed director David Leitch (Deadpool 2, Bullet Train).

The film, set to begin production this summer, follows González as a rogue intelligence operative who uncovers a conspiracy within her own agency. With a script penned by John Wick writer Derek Kolstad, Shadow Protocol promises intense fight sequences, high-stakes espionage, and González in what insiders are calling her most physically demanding role yet.

'I've always wanted to do a full-blown action film where I can really push myself,' González said in an exclusive statement. 'Working with David and this incredible team is a dream—it's going to be explosive.'

González, who has previously showcased her action chops in Baby Driver, Ambulance, and Godzilla vs. Kong, has been training rigorously in combat and stunt work for the part. The film also reportedly features an A-list supporting cast, though names remain under wraps.

Shadow Protocol is slated for a summer 2026 release, with early buzz suggesting it could launch a new franchise. Fans of González can also catch her later this year in the sci-fi drama Echoes of Us, further cementing her status as one of Hollywood's most versatile leading ladies.
