Escort Duty is a quest in Dragon's Dogma
"The merchant Fournival asks you look after his spoiled daughter Symone. Be warned: You've fought hydras more pleasant than this girl. "
For this quest to be completed perfectly and you to get the Golden Idol, you must make sure to never get too far away. Never bump into her. Never draw your weapon or bump into others, and comply with her requests quickly 
You obtain this quest if you approach Fournival after completing "Land of Opportunity" and in stages 2 and 3. Fournival will ask you to escort Symone around the city. Come prepared with a Flask of Water which you can obtain by gathering water with an empty flask or buy it from the alchemist at Gran Soren fountain.
First follow Symone towards the fountain by the Inn. She will scold you if you get away so stay close. Then she will run off and hide, simply find her just behind the Alehouse or inside the inn and talk to her to continue. She will shop around then head to the gate and demand water, give her water.
lastly she will want a race. You must let her win, but just by a tiny little bit. Make sure you don't sprint or run into her.
It's best to create a cloud save so you can restore if you mess up. 
So this quest becomes unavailable after stage 3? I wish the game made it clear about which quests will be unavailable after a certain stage
