The true purpose of human life, therefore, is to get to know oneself better and better, improve, enlighten and transform, to move from the pleasures of life and self-gratification to experience our true nature - bliss or unlimited Ananda - that cannot be comprehended by the material senses. Dharmic values are not the same for everyone; different people have different dharma according to their age, gender, and social position. Each and everybody therefore has their own dharma known as Sva-dharma. What is correct for a woman might not be for a man or what is correct for a grown-up might not be for a child.
We all must know that every particle, however small, and every galaxy, however big, is sustained by this inherent supreme awareness - Dharmic values. Most of us don't even know whether what we are doing in life is according to our dharma or not. Also, many people argue why they should lead their life following the path of dharma; and claim that they the freedom to do what they want to do. In other words, they are slaves of their desires, lust and governed by their compulsive behavior. This is the very reason why we must aware of our dharma and practice it in our day to day life.
Dharma is really meant for the establishment of a peaceful and healthy society. Because of lack of awareness of dharmic values, humanity has caused immense harm to the environment and him/herself. Today it has become almost impossible to control human behavior if we see what all is going around. Besides climate change, immeasurable wealth in just a few hands, gripping starvation and diseases, shortage of clean drinking water etc. all over the world. An unadulterated, wishful thinking is not just enough.
One has to listen to great guru-vakyas to attain inner-strength practice dharma. All the prevailing disharmony among nations and societies can be readdressed by adhering dharmic values diligently. By taking total responsibility of one’s own deeds with righteous and compassionate action in accordance with dharma is the real service to mother nature and humanity.
