Devils Edge Out Blackhawks in Thrilling Overtime Showdown

Newark, NJ – March 27, 2025 – In a high-stakes battle between two storied franchises, the New Jersey Devils prevailed over the Chicago Blackhawks in a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory at the Prudential Center on Wednesday night.

The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading blows in a fast-paced, physical matchup. The Blackhawks struck first, with rookie sensation Connor Bedard netting his 35th goal of the season on a breakaway just five minutes into the game. The Devils responded quickly, as Jack Hughes buried a wrist shot past Chicago goaltender Petr Mrazek to tie the game before the end of the first period.

The second period saw the Blackhawks regain the lead when Philipp Kurashev capitalized on a power play, but New Jersey’s Jesper Bratt answered with a dazzling solo effort, weaving through defenders to knot the game at 2-2.
