Colin Farrell to Star in New Psychological Thriller 'The Silent Echo'

Los Angeles, April 15, 2025 – Academy Award-winning actor Colin Farrell has been tapped to lead the cast of The Silent Echo, an upcoming psychological thriller from acclaimed director David Fincher (The Killer, Gone Girl). The film, set to begin production this summer, follows a reclusive linguist (Farrell) who uncovers a cryptic language tied to a series of unsolved disappearances.

Farrell, fresh off his critically praised turn in The Batman Part II as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, continues his streak of complex, darkly compelling roles. The Silent Echo is said to be in the vein of Zodiac and Prisoners, blending mystery with intense character drama.

'I've been a longtime admirer of David's work, and this script gripped me from page one,' Farrell said in a statement. 'It's a haunting exploration of obsession and the power of words—literally and metaphorically.'

The project reunites Farrell with The Lobster producer Ed Guiney and is backed by Netflix, which secured rights in a competitive bidding war. No official release date has been set, but insiders speculate a late 2026 awards-season rollout.
