Analysis:
"Modern society provides the opportunity to experience the downside of fame without any of the upside" (2:58).
But the only real, enduring "upside" to fame is self-importance: vanity. And the real and imagined famous: they famously chase this vanity–certainly to the ends of the earth, and routinely to the end of their life. Thus, modern fame is a perfected distillation of the vanity that rots anyone who revels in any amount of fame or leverages any fame to any advantage.
And after all, the average tiktoker, etc. is hardly more vapid and talentless than, for example, the Beatles or Elvis. Take a listen to the Beatles' famous "Yellow Submarine" sometime. Or watch a video of Elvis's famous "dancing." With that kind of awkward mediocre trash as among the fame of their elders, this generation of miserable mediocre self-worshiping frauds and goofs have all the temptation and framework that they need to be exactly the kind of boring famous that they are.
And of course tiktok is simply the perfection of political distraction–a tool by and for the slave-state of China to invite focus anywhere but on China's hell-on-earth of forced abortion, regular abortion, rampant suicide (especially among women), gun-free zones with hacked up school-children, child-abuse as a familial business-model, etc.
