Who would have thought that after a day wandering around the amazingly picturesque city of Oslo , which I think is strikingly similar to both Victoria and Vancouver in Canada, you can jump on a train, take a 30 minute trip and be on an outdoor ski slope with a great view over the city. You can also rent all the necessary gear at the Oslo Winter Park ski rental shop and take a lesson if you have no idea what to do with the plank or planks that are now attached to your feet. For most of the season, which runs from December to April, you can snowboard or ski from 10am until 10pm on the fully lit slopes. While it is not the worlds biggest resort by any means, they certainly have enough to keep you well entertained for at least 2 or 3 days of solid downhill. As far as pricing goes, I think their lifts tickets are very reasonable. You will also have to buy a chip card for Nk50, which is not refundable. Apparently these cards can be used at any other resort that uses a chip card system. Or leave it with a local friend, or keep it as a souvenir. Then the Hoven mountain in Fjord Norway is the place for you! The seven-kilometre-long toboggan run will give you plenty of fun, and a fantastic view of the fjord and mountain area is also included!
