Any experience from sonus festival in Zrce? Me and my friends think about going to Sonus in Zrce next year. Any experiences or opinions about it? I'm afraid of it's to mainstream cause i'm more into the underground scene. Sonus felt like heaven compared to that, everything from the tickets to the parties was smooth, didn't have to worry about any bullshit and just enjoyed my time there. Bit expensive for me being from the poorest country in the EU , a beer costs like 8 euro at the bar, but the music was more than worth it. The lineup is huge and you have lots of different styles on display. You have three clubs, hosting DJ's at the same time, so you have to pick and choose, which was fucking hard believe me. Luckily, all of this is laid out in a neat timetable on their website, which shows you which DJ is playing at which venue in real time. I love all sorts of electronic music, so I switched clubs in-between sets to get as much out of it as I could. Rubinstein she killed it! Totally worth it in my opinion. Went with 3 friends and we got a cheap apartment through Airbnb about months before the festival, you can get a much cheaper price if you manage to go for it earlier. Locals know how popular the festival is and prices rise drastically as it draws closer. Apart from Zrce, there's a lot of great beaches around Novalja, be sure to check out a few while you're coming down from the last party ; Love diving and there were some great spots in the northern parts of the island. As a note, if you want to buy drugs, avoid the Italian dealers that infest the parties. I swear, every minutes I'd get a guy asking me 'you want coke? I tried out a few pills and they were total shit, it's just a waste of money. Try to get one of the local taxi drivers, the Croats are cool people and I found a guy who not only drove me to my hotel each night for cheap, but got me the purest fucking MDMA ever. Finally, the people were awesome. Sure, you have your typical posers, but as a whole, it was a very educated crowd as far as electronic music goes. People were dancing for fucking real, no playing around I tell you! All in all, it cost me like 1k euro for the 5 days, without having to restrict myself too much. People from more developed countries can quite comfortably enjoy themselves for like 1,5k in my opinion. Hey, I have a quick question. I just booked my airbnb 11 km away from the zrce beach. I read some bad things about the venue itself, like being overcrowded last year, but in terms of line-up, it looks pretty good. I am also into the underground scene a lot more than the festival scene, but if you're going with friends I think it would be a fun thing to attend. You don't have to go too hard if you're not feeling it but theres a good decent amount of artists going. Edit: Do you live in Croatia? If not then I would definitely not go unless you plan on being in Croatia during that time. There are many other festivals in Europe that are more worthwhile. Never been to Croatia and happen to be in Europe anyways so I extended my trip to go. But definitely looking for more underground artists. What've you heard that was negative about the festival? I was supposed to have some friends going with me. I'm from the US and I'm deciding if I should go solo or not. I was there and it was an amazing experience. Definitely worth it!!!
