BLACKPINK has started their much anticipated BORN PINK tour with a bang in Seoul , with Jennie confirming and debuting her newest solo track.
Kicking off on October 15, the concert took place in the South Korean capital. BLINKs took to Twitter to share clips from the performance, which included the first-ever performance of her latest song.
While not much information is available at the moment, the track sees the K-pop artist singing, “I love you and me/Dancing in the moonlight/Nobody can see/It’s just you and me tonight.” The stage opened with a black-and-white clip of the artist singing the lyrics, followed by a performance with a catchy chorus and choreography. The star also has a duet dance sequence followed by a rap verse.

Stay tuned as we learn more about Jennie’s new solo track. It’s unclear whether the song will receive an official release, as the musician has only shared so far that it is “unreleased.” You can head over to Twitter to see clips from the performance.

In case you missed it, Jennie recently designed her dream care with Porsche .

Everything’s coming up roses for Blackpink ’s Rosé. The K-pop singer made her solo debut with the project R , out March 12. R is led by anthemic single “On the Ground,” which also comes with a music video, finding Rosé looking glamorous as ever among flames and explosions. The project’s other track is the stripped-back ballad “Gone,” which Rosé first performed at Blackpink’s livestream “The Show” in January. Rosé isn’t the first Blackpink member to release solo music, after Jennie previously released her song “Solo” in 2018. R — sung fully in English — comes after Blackpink dropped their first Korean full-length, The Album , last October. Rosé will perform solo on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 16.

Alongside a BLACKPINK comeback, which fans have been eagerly anticipating since The Album was released in 2020, showing off BLACKPINK’s incredible vocal talents and dance skills…
Fans have been waiting for Jisoo to make her solo debut.
Jennie was the first of BLACKPINK to make her solo debut, releasing “SOLO” in 2018.
Rosé was the next to make her solo debut, releasing both “On The Ground” and “Gone” in March 2021.
Lisa was the most recent of the members to make her solo debut, releasing both “LALISA” and “MONEY” in September 2021.
So fans are understandably waiting for the last of the members, Jisoo’s solo debut.
Fortunately for fans, in a recent interview with Rolling Stone , Jisoo opened up about her solo debut, talking about the part of the music creation process she’s currently stuck on.
I’m not sure how much I want to go solo yet.
-Jisoo in the Rolling Stone interview
Although BLACKPINK has a defining sound that the Rolling Stone article describes as combining “the YG spirit of swag and self-confidence with moments of vulnerability and inventive beats,” the members seem to have been given the freedom to experiment with the sound of their choice for their debut.
In the interview, Jennie talks about how her solo debut song contained her love for “vocals, rap, [and] dance.”
I have so many things I like… I love vocals, rap, dance. I can contain all of that in a single song. I have that diversity.
-Jennie in the Rolling Stone interview
While Lisa talks about having wanted to start to explore traditional Thai music in her solo debut.
Is hip-hop the only thing I’m good at? …What if it turns out I’m also good at traditional Thai music?
-Lisa in the Rolling Stones interview
So it’s understandable that Jisoo is struggling to decide what style of music she most wants to try for her solo debut, especially given the immense pressure she feels to try and meet fans’ expectations and hopes.
The music I listen to, the music I can do, and the music I want to do – what should I choose? I love songs with lots of instruments. I love different bands and rock music. What do people want from me? There’s a chaos of conflicting questions.
-Jisoo in the Rolling Stones interview
And besides simply feeling the immense pressure of deciding on the style of song, Jisoo is also struggling with the idea of being the sole focus of attention.
She compares herself to the rest of her members, explaining that her members “[feel] energized by the people who come to see [them]” and enjoy performing. But in contrast, Jisoo enjoys performing but is typically more worried about avoiding making a mistake than actually enjoying the moment.
I love to perform, but I don’t always enjoy being part of the spotlight. I think it’s different for the other members: They love to receive the spotlight, feeling energized by the people who come to see us, and then getting a bit depressed when the stage is over and silence arrives. I’m a little different. When I’m onstage, I think about not making mistakes. Performing sometimes feels more like a test than something genuinely fun.
-Jisoo in the Rolling Stones interview
And while Jisoo may currently be struggling to determine the direction of her long-awaited solo debut, fans can rest assured that it’s an active work in progress. Jisoo will inevitably release music that she can be proud of and fans will enjoy.
