Right I'm in argument with some dick who says I'm not actually from the U.K cause I say asshole.
Anyone from the UK who says asshole is an arsehole. QED.
Arsehole, only Americans and people who watch too much American TV/ Spend too much time on reddit, say Asshole.

I normally say arsehole but there are times to use ass. For instance the word kickass. Kickarse sounds entirely wrong to me although I would always say arsehole.
There is never a time to use "kickass". The correct British rendition of the concept would be "not bad at all".

Why say asshole though? Do you say "ass" in any other context, and if so, why?

What is the difference between Arsehole and Asshole?

In the britterlands the ass is a donkey. In the mericans, ass means buttocks. You can say either, I give you permission.

In the USA, “asshole” is the normal way of saying it, and “arsehole” is seen as a minced oath, that is a curse that’s made less bad by changing the curse part of it (“ass” to “arse”).
In the UK, “arsehole” is the normal way of saying it.
I'm surprised to see that in the US "arsehole" is more polite. I've never heard an American use that version.
The actual origins of the divide (as far as I understand it) is that Americans adopted "ass" as opposed to the traditional "arse" as a more polite version. By changing it from an exclusively rude word to one with another meaning (ass meaning donkey) it diluted the rudeness.
This can be seen in other sentences ("shucks" as opposed to "shit", or for example Russians saying "blin", which means pancake, as opposed to "blyat", which means whore/fuck).
I definitely see "arse" as the more vulgar word.
They mean the same. In British English the slag for a rectum is arse where as ass means a donkey.
Okay cool same meaning but different root reference
Arsehole isn’t as harsh as Asshole. It’s like feck and fuck. We have plenty of watered down curse words in Ireland which allows for different levels of severity. A “feckin arsehole” is a bit of a fool whereas a “fucking asshole” is someone you really despise.
