Developers, If you have ANY questions during building the miner, Join Aquachain chat on telegram. All questions will be answered regarding algorithms, RPC, pools, current cpu implementations, and more.
We are pushing for starting Hard Fork 8 as soon as May 15 unless resistance is met. 😎
(This is not the place to go into detail about HF8 but for anyone who doesn't know its a small adjustment to the mining algorithm that will make it easier for people to build mining software for use with Aquachain.)

Entry Requirements
Miner Requirements: No dev fee, Must be able to change algorithm every block, based on block header version. No segfaults, No crashes. No damage to hardware. Steady mining at max throttle. No funky business.
License Requirements: GPLv3 licensed, Open Source, git repository. No closed-source requirements. Minimal third party requirements (we have to audit those, too).
Build requirements: Automated build using something like travis-ci or docker. We can assist with this. Windows and Linux build targets.
Voting requirements: To prove your miner is mining the blocks, use a short, unique nonce space prefix or suffix. Such as '0x04' or even '0x4'. Another alternative is to add a workerID prefix or suffix for pool hashrate identification. If you can think of another way to identify your miner on the network, please discuss it in the chat.
Your README or --help command should contain an AQUA wallet address.
This wallet address will be sent the reward.
Whats the rewards?
The fund is all ETH, tokens and AQUA sent to the fund wallet address during this event.
85% of the fund goes to the winner.
5% is split between Level 1 entries (and Level 2 and winner)
10% is split between Level 2 entries (and winner)
Minus gas fees, which are quite high right now on ETH chain.
Hows the reward fund "levels" work?
Level 1 is split among all participants who's software mined more than 10 blocks
Level 2 is split among all participants who's software mined more than 100 blocks
The rest is given to the Winner
Who determines the winner?
If your miner mines more than 10 blocks, you get Level 1 reward
If your miner mines more than 100 blocks, you get Level 2 reward
30 days (around 10800 blocks) after the contest starts, we will tally up the blocks mined by each mining software. Starting at the "Launch Date" (when all entries are ready and we are done waiting for more entries)
The winner is the software who mined the most blocks.
Meaning, the miners will have chosen the winner by discarding the others.
There is no close tie. Winner is the mining software that mines the most blocks (via Nonce space vote), or sustains the most hashpower on the pools that are mining those blocks (via workerID vote).
When does the contest start?
When there is at least one new GPU miner that meets requirements, we can start the mining contest. If there are individual miners or teams that are working on a miner, we will hear input from them before starting the block count.
If there is only one entry, and the only entry is acceptable, they will get all the reward (and rightfully so).
