ALTEN is a French multinational technology consulting and engineering company founded in 1988, it has offices in 25 countries. [3] [1] ALTEN's stock is listed in compartment B of the Euronext Paris market (ISIN FR0000071946); it is part of the SBF 120, the IT CAC 50 index and MIDCAP 100, and is eligible for the Deferred Settlement Service (SRD).

In 2018, ALTEN had 33,700 employees [1] and reported a revenue of 2.2 Bn euros. [4] The French market accounts for 45% of the group's activity. [1]

ALTEN operates as a technology consulting and engineering company worldwide. It provides design and research projects for the technical and information systems divisions in the industrial , telecommunications , and service sectors. It is engaged in the studies and conception of technological products for technical divisions. The company also provides networks and telecoms architecture, as well as develops IT systems for information systems departments.

ALTEN provides services in industries such as telecommunications, computer systems, networking, multimedia, defense, aviation, and information systems. [5]

ALTEN was founded in 1988 by Simon Azoulay, [6] Laurent Schwarz and Thierry Woog; [7] three engineers from major schools.

Development of its establishment in France and expansion of its activities between 1988 and 1997, then IPO in 1999 [8] on the second market of the Paris Stock Exchange. The international development started in 2000 represented 20% of turnover in 2003. [8] Expansion towards Asia and the United States in 2012. [7] The Group has since pursued a strategy of targeted business [9] acquisitions in line with its core business in Europe, particularly in 2016. [10] Thus, in 2019, the international share represented 56.8% of Group revenue. [11]

From July to December 2012, Alten Spain fired more than a hundred employees, claiming a sales decrease.
In December 2012 Alten Spain tried to fire 140 of its employees and impose a 10% pay cut on the rest. As a consequence, Alten workers called for strike in January 2013. [21] [22] [23] [ citation needed ]

Every day is different which is exciting.
I deal with very different topics on a day, from some basic questions to strategic issue. Also, the connection is wide from the contractor workers to the CEO through all the business manager and Senior Manager in between.

Alten is a company which cannot be trusted, It never stands on its promise given to employees. It doesn't pay employees at a good rate. Management behaves rudely with employees during negotiation. I never saw a stupid company like this. So, Its not a good company to work for.

I once worked with an Alten supper wise manager, he sounds doing anything if you give Alten any business. Big talk, less engineering concept and management, if they can use you for a free trial, they will not forget baiting you to do something free; if not, they will sell you to their clients as Alten is a company of recruiting talents. Terrible French culture, not underdone earth America.

Fun place to work, I loved the job till they switch hours from 7p.m - 7a.m to 12a.m-12p.m. they made my title lead but could afford to pay me the lead pay they had set up. Other than those 2 things great place to work.
