Casting "Sonya," a student thesis short film. Synopsis: Sonya Blake is an aspiring artist with a passion for painting. When the city is rocked by protest and unrest after the death of George Floyd. Mitch, the father a police officer forbids her from going meanwhile Iris, the best friend insist she find her voice and speak up against injustice. Now stuck at a crossroads she must decide whether to stand up for what’s right or abide by the rules. Can she make the right choice and find common ground? Production will follow CDC COVID-19 guideline that include a required covid test before being on set. It's mandatory that actors wear masks until they are acting. On set the crew will be wearing a mask and social distancing. The team will be a minimum of 5-6 people.
beautiful and angry, Sonya has just moved from Oakland to New York with her dad; she lost her mother a couple months ago and since has strayed away from her father, sneaking out to party and hanging out with the wrong crowd… anything to deflect from the pain and grief of her mother’s death.
