Making a splash in the world's largest pool 'Heaven Sent Brandy' is world's tiniest dog Mr Yu said that online dating agencies are his best shot at happiness, as potential love interests are "shocked" when they see him in person. "I am being honest with any new partners", he told Zhejiang Online. "I tell them at the start that I am listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the hairiest man in the world. "My whole body is covered with hair. I tried waxing it off but the pain was incredible, and I tried shaving but my skin was like sandpaper. "This way many girls are shocked when they see me in person, but at least they see the real me and if they get to know me I hope they will like what they find." The Guinness Book of Records gave him the title in 2002. Ninety-six per cent of his body is covered by hair, and Mr Yu says that his parents are worried that he won't be able to find a partner. "I know I am ugly," said Mr Yu, "but I am a good person and I need love like everyone else. "

It is offering a "Little Black Book" application to Facebook users from next week, which helps them find potential partners. The move comes as analysts argue that free social networking sites pose a serious threat to subscription services such as Match. Some dating sites have already left the market as networking operations such as Facebook and MySpace have rapidly expanded their non-paying audiences. Other matchmakers have become more like networking sites by introducing chat functions and video clips. But dating sites also argue that the social networking phenomenon has helped them increase their overall audience by breaking down people's inhibitions about meeting online.

Jason Stockwood, head of the UK arm of Match, said: "As the market leader, our biggest strategic challenge is to grow the category and our experience tells us that social networkers have a high propensity to try online dating, which makes this a natural move for us. " shares many of the same characteristics as a social network - both are about bringing people together. helps people expand these by meeting new people with an interest in forming romantic relationships." 's subscription model, instead giving customers the chance to meet its members on a "pay-per-contact" basis. , which allows users to sign up single friends. Using the Little Black Book application, friends can share potential matches with any of their other friends on Facebook and can purchase keys to "unlock" a potential match for a friend. Match's announcement comes after research last week showed Britons were the heaviest users of networking sites in Europe. British adults log on to social networking sites on average 23 times a month and spend longer on them than their European neighbours - an average of 5.3 hours a month, according to the media regulator Ofcom.

It’s not often that one of our residents flees the roost to take up home elsewhere: usually once you’re in the Museum that’s it, accessioned for life (or, more accurately, death). However, one of our former dinosaur aisle characters is now looking for a new home… The four-metre long Utahraptor model has been with the Museum since 2000, during which time it escaped to take up temporary residence in Blackwell’s book shop in Oxford city centre as part of the award-winning Goes to Town project. This time, however, the Utahraptor will be leaving us for the last time as part of a reorganisation of the Museum’s offsite store, where the model is currently residing. But rather than just ditch this Cretaceous creature unceremoniously we’d like to offer it out to new keepers, ideally somewhere with a public space where the model can be enjoyed by others. So, fancy yourself as a dinosaur owner? If so, check out our selection form for details of what it takes to keep such a pet.

We’re asking people to make a case for the Utahraptor to move to their venue and we will donate the model free of charge to whoever is selected. The closing date for submissions is 5 August and the selected venue will be announced by 12 August. We need to deliver the model to its new home on or before 23 September. At this point you probably want some Utahraptor facts to help with your decision, right? Well, here you go: Utahraptor means ‘Utah’s predator’ and the animal is known from fragmentary fossils found only in Utah in the United States. There is just one known species, Utahraptor ostrommaysorum, which was alive in the early Cretaceous period, around 125 million years ago. It is thought that like most dinosaurs of its type (dromaeosaurids) the Utahraptor was feathered, although no direct evidence has yet been found. The Museum’s model, made by Crawley Creatures, does not represent a feathered example of this species. It’s likely the beast was not bright orange too, but who knows?
