Can anyone recommend a place to buy inexpensive beach chairs, umbrellas, etc.? Where do you want to buy them, in the 'States or Bermuda? Sorry, should have been more specific: in Bermuda, to avoid having to lug them with us on the plane. Not to break your bubble, nothing is inexpensive in Bermuda. Usually the place you are staying will provide chairs and umbrellas on the beach. I know at Horseshoe Bay (public beach) there is a rental kiosk that has all these items. Also, Elbow Beach (another public beach) provides visitors the opportunity to rent chairs, etc. This would, more than likely, be cheaper than buying the items outright.Check with them about beach amenities. No worries about bubble bursting--I've spendtenough time there to know what things cost. I also know that to rent an umbrella and two chairs at Horseshoe beach runs around $20/day, which absolutely cannot be cheaper over the course of several days than buying a few. The Horseshoe concession lso doesn't do us any good on any other beaches.
So buying is a good option, if anyone knows of a store that has beach stuff available. You should try Masters on Dundonald Street. The cheapest chairs are under $15. Ask at your hotel for directions on how to get there. You could also try the Phoenix on Reid Street in Hamilton. I noticed today that they did have folding umbrella type beach chairs, but I didn't see the price, sorry. I'm sure you'll find something though if you check around. Would like to know what store in Aruba would sell those low to the ground folding beach chairs with the backpack straps? I don't know where you can buy them is Aruba, but we bought ours at home and bring them with us for our visits to Arashi Beach and Rodgers Beach. Last week when we went to Arashi it looked like they were renting chairs and the parking lot was very full. Certified Supermarket and the hardware store within the market has beach chairs but they were very expensive.
