Our Lego Movie cosplay group on the Sunday of MCM Expo October 2014! (/post/101… - Reblog on Tumblr! The Top 25 Movie Cosplayers of Comic-Con 2014They dressed up nice, so let's look twice. We’d love to go back in time and witness the very first cosplayer. Can you imagine it? Before the days when fandom was a socially acceptable lifestyle, someone said to themselves, “Self, I’m going to dress up as my favorite character from a movie, TV series or comic book and walk around in a public place.” You gotta admire that person’s bravery. But the best part is, they showed up dressed like a Vulcan or Spider-Man or whomever it was, and people saw them and thought, “That person is a genius,” and followed along. And now, cosplay is all part of the fun of geeky conventions. It’s hard to look sideways without catching a glimpse of someone who put a lot of time, effort and thought into the perfect cosplay for that year. And it’s hard not to appreciate all the hard work on the part of the wonderful cosplayers at an event like Comic-Con. Tanya Tate’s Dos and Don’t of CosplayObviously, there were cosplayers of every variety, but we’re the CraveOnline Film Channel, dang it, so we write about the movies.

So here are some of the best movie cosplayers we saw at Comic-Con 2014. Maybe they had a great idea, maybe they just sold their costume well, maybe we just thought they looked like they were having so much fun that they epitomized the very idea of cosplaying. But these were the ones we liked the most… and were able to get a photograph of; because seriously, there’s hundreds if not thousands of these intrepid cosplayers.William Bibbiani is the editor of CraveOnline’s Film Channel and the host of The B-Movies Podcast and The Blue Movies Podcast. Batman is one of the most cosplayed characters on the planet, so competition is fierce. You can buy a fiendishly accurate Batman costume online (or even the actual batsuit Christian Bale wore in The Dark Knight), but to really stand out from the crowd, you need to get creative.

After scouring the internet for truly ingenious Batman cosplay ideas, we’ve put together a list of the best. The ultimate, fully function batsuit Julian Checkley’s home made batsuit holds the Guinness world record for “most functional gadgets in a cosplay suit,” featuring 23 gadgets including a bluetooth tracking batarang and a fireball launcher. Steampunk remixes are a convention staple, so we have two honorable mentions in this category. First is this “Iron Bat” costume with expanding wings, and the next is this retro-inspired steampunk version of the 1960s TV batsuit. (We recommend checking out the entire image gallery, because this steampunk Batman came with friends.) “Sweding” is the term for making intentionally clunky fan films, recreating a trailer or movie with cheap home made props and costumes. This sweded remake of The Dark Knight trailer features some memorably crappy cosplay, including a Batman costume that looks like a black bedsheet.

At the Indiana State Fair in 2013, someone decided to dress a llama as Batman. That’s really all you need to know. Because just in case you wanted to know what a llama dressed like Batman would look like… — IndyStar (@indystar) August 3, 2013 Built by professional armorers at the Prince Armory in Dallas, this historical remix of the batsuit is genuinely intimidating. It’s jet black with just a hint of Nazgul, ready to strike fear into the hearts of medieval supervillains. This could honestly be an entire category to itself, featuring masterpieces like the genderbent Justice League team photoshoot at 2011’s San Diego Comic-Con. However, we’re especially impressed with this traditional Batman armor cosplay, which looks like a real movie costume in its own right. Last but not least, here’s an eye-catching Batman costume that you might actually be able to build for yourself. Armed with cardboard boxes, a hot glue gun, and some painting skill, you can recreate one of the funniest characters from The Lego Movie.

Up next after the break: I made a Wyldstyle cosplay for The LEGO Movie! I made the hoodie by taking a giant men's hoodie and chopping it up to fit me and adding a pink lining to the hood. I then made stencils with contact paper, did a layer of white paint, and then went over it with pink and blue. I am planning to finish it up by painting the pants and shoes, but I'm really pleased with it so far.Dad wins Halloween with amazing Lego costume for his son The kid is ACTUALLY a human Lego! There are costumes, and then there are costumes. Faced with the epic LEGO Movie costume this lucky kid’s dad built for him, our prevailing question is: How on earth will he top this next Halloween? This amazing LEGO Movie cosplay zoomed to the top of Reddit’s r/Pics subreddit this morning, and we can’t blame members for being excited. This dad turned his kid into a pint-sized actual human Lego: And believe it or not, there’s actually a kid in there! Redditor Broke_stupid_lonely posted the photos after seeing his anonymous cousin post them on Facebook.

The extraordinary dad, who is apparently a modern Michelangelo when it comes to building things out of styrofoam, reportedly works as a factory machinist and spent weeks crafting this costume for his son. He was so painstaking that the costume’s headpiece even assembles like a real Lego, complete with detachable hair: If you have the money and really want a similar costume for your kid, you’re in luck: the dad is reportedly selling the costume for $2,000 “based on the time he spent doing it.” There’s one catch, however. According to the cousin, the kid “can’t bend his knees too well so he hobbles along, like the character in the movie. Clearly, mobility isn’t required for making this kid’s Halloween a success. In fact, we’d go so far as to say this costume has made our Halloween a success, too. We might even say: Everything is awesome when it’s Halloween. Up next after the break: Let’s take a look at some funny The Lego Movie Videogame easter eggs!

They can be found if you know where to look! Easter eggs have been confirmed for The Lego Movie Videogame. Watch footage of them all below. Miranda CosplayTifa CosplayLara Croft CosplayPokemon Trainers Index of The Lego Movie Videogame Guides: Here’s a little easter egg you can find that’s a reference to Wonder Woman. It’s the “To the Invisible Jet!” 20 Gamerscore Achievement / Bronze Trophy, that you get when you “Find and destroy the Invisible Jet.” Instructions How To Find Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet: • Step #1. First, go to “The Old West” open world hub and walk to the right to the graveyard containing the “Cloud Cuckoo Land” portal. • Step #2. Enter the “Cloud Cuckoo Land” level in Free Play mode. Now switch your player character to Unikitty (or any kitty variation) and find the rainbow cloud bricks to the immediate right. • Step #3. Destroy the cloud and reassemble its rainbow brick pieces with Unikitty to create a launch pad that will send you flying to another cloud (at the very start where you land is where it’s hiding, you can’t miss it).

• Step #4. The invisible jet is right in front of you, slightly to your right, hidden behind shimmering stars in the night sky. Aim any kind of attack, like throwing a boomerang, forward to destroy the jet in a big explosion and send a mushroom cloud soaring into the sky. Moments after the jet’s destruction the “To the Invisible Jet!” Achievement / Trophy will unlock. Watch the video of Wonder Woman funnily enough destroying her own Invisible Jet: When you Free Play “Level 4: Flatbush Rooftops”, after Vitruvius builds a bridge to progress in the level, on the next rooftop look for the rainbow brick-covered door to the balcony. Using Unikitty’s building ability, you’ll gain entrance to a bar. Inside the bar, you’ll find Indiana Jones’ hat, gun, and whip lying on a table! 🙂
To see the Indiana Jones easter egg, skip to 7:30 minutes into the video: I’m sure there’s even more hidden easter eggs than these. Discoveries made by Shockblast & Packattack.
