Hi i was in florida last may with a 2 & 6 very almost 7 year olds and took buggies for both just in case, they came in very useful as they both needed a rest and when they were not using them we put a cooler and our bags in them, there was 12 of us so took in turns pushing them, going to go next may taking a buggie for the who will be 4 years then but not the 8 year old, if we find that he will need one then will purchase one from wallmart as seen them really cheap last time for the same price of a days rental in disney. Strollers are expensive and I don't think a 7 year old would even fit in one One destination mentioned in this post I went wit a 7 and 4 year old - IMHO, definitely need stroller ! Both used it - I purchased a week for a double stroller in Disney - well worth the price. I would say no i think you'll be fine... would they not be too embarassed in a stroller? as mentioned above its a god send for holding all the extras - snacks, water bottles, hot tired children, change of knickers and shorts when my daughter get soaked on Kali rapids great to use round epcot world show case as they can recharge as you enjoy does not need to be expensive - walmart sell strollers for around $20 - ditch it or give it to a charity when finished my daughter did not think she was too old (she was 7) it allowed us to stay in the parks the whole day with out falling out from being cranky we use the touring plans so this means doubling back sometimes and our daughter jumps in the stroller whilst we whizz thorugh the park to get a fast pass and then onto the next great ride
Following the touring plans means a bit of double tracking and she saves her energy for the fun bits ! your there to enjoy - lol Absolutely go with the stroller,if you need it. Disneyworld is a fantasy vacation,and anything goes.Let your hair down,indulge the kids,and have a wonderful time!! I agree with Disfan, they're old enough to walk and carry their own bags. When the parks are really crowded they're more of a hindrance than a help. I would try without first then if need be head to Walmart. We did Disney California a couple of years ago with kids that age, i did wonder before we went and decided I would buy if we needed to - but we didn't. I know it is smaller, not so humid etc, but it was still hot and kids did just fine. Go at their pace, if you don't see everything this time there's always next time - and even if there isn't a next time there are happy memories of this time! Occasionally 5 yr old got a shoulder carry - but not that much. Hope she survives ok in Florida this year - 7 yr olds are heavier than 5 yr olds!!
I say go for it. Who wants to deal with a hot cranky kid. I certainly don't . Last year my daughter was five and used her stroller when she was tired which wasn't often but we had it for when she was. We are going again at the end of July as she has requested that we bring it again. She is six and I asked her if she would be embarrased to be in a stroller and she said no. I've have seen older kids being carried around by their fathers and that's not fair to dad. So then you have a cranky kid and a cranky dad. Also as someone else said it's great to carry your stuff around it. I personally don't like carrying a bunch of stuff around on my back. I also liked knowing that in large crowds I knew where my daughter was and I didn't have to worry about her trying to keep up with the crowd. Last year we saw lots of older kids in strollers.
