If you've been thinking of picking up an Xbox One for yourself or someone else but are holding out for a price drop, you'll probably be disappointed. Instead of cutting retail prices, console makers are instead focusing on improving the perceived value of what you're getting by adding additional content. (It's much cheaper to give up a digital copy of a game than cut $20 off the price tag.)Because of that, Microsoft has announced a half-dozen new bundles this week that may be worth waiting for. (This isn't even counting the Elite bundle that includes the 1TB hybrid SSD drive and the customizable Elite controller.)INDIANAPOLIS STARMicrosoft, Nintendo, Sony to roll out new holiday hardwareFor the post-apocalypse loverOn Nov. 10, Microsoft will release a "Fallout 4" bundle for $399 that packages the upcoming role-playing game from Bethesda Game Studios with an Xbox One console with a 1TB hard drive.

The bundle will also include a download of 2008's "Fallout 3," an Xbox 360 title that will be playable via the Xbox One's upcoming backwards-compatibility update. In November, Microsoft will roll out its Special Edition "Gears of War" bundle exclusively at Walmart for $349. Featuring a white console and controller — but only a 500GB hard drive — this bundle comes with a download token for "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition," the recently-released remake of the Xbox 360's 2006 title that brought cover-based shooting to the masses. (Sorry, "WinBack" and "kill.switch.") As a bonus, playing this ultimate edition of the first game on Xbox Live before year's end will add downloadable versions of the original Xbox 360 trilogy and red-headed stepchild "Gears of War: Judgment" to your library to keep. For the adventure loverLara Croft, the original Tomb Raider (assuming you don't count Indiana Jones, Allan Quartermain and countless pulp heroes), is starring in a new game this year, and Microsoft is celebrating with a "Rise of the Tomb Raider" bundle on Nov. 3.

Retailing for $399, the package includes a 1TB system and downloadable tokens for both the new "Tomb Raider" game and the 2014 Definitive Edition of the 2013 game. For the familyIt hasn't been packed in with the system since mid-2014, but the Kinect sensor isn't quite dead yet. A $499 Kinect bundle coming out in October includes the 500GB system, the Kinect camera and download tokens for "Kinect Sports Rivals" and "Zoo Tycoon" (both 2013 launch titles) and "Dance Central Spotlight," a Kinect-required game that had the bad luck to come out in 2014 after Microsoft unbundled the Kinect. The movie and tie-in game are both nearly two years old, but "The LEGO Movie" — in both forms — still stands up. A new "LEGO Movie" bundle arriving in October for $349 will include the standard 500GB Xbox One and the game. For those who love a valueThis is the big one: the $399 Holiday Bundle. Besides a 1TB hard drive, the bundle includes downloadable tokens for three games: "Ori & The Blind Forest" (a fantastic metroidvania), the "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition" and "Rare Replay."

Three games, but so much more. As mentioned earlier, playing the "Gears of War: UE" online before Jan.1 nabs you downloadable versions of the four Xbox 360 games. "Rare Replay" includes 30 games from developer Rare's history, and while many of them are disposable (e.g. "Lunar Jetman," "Knight Lore"), some of them are still stone-cold classics: the three "Banjo-Kazooie" games, "Perfect Dark," "Blast Corps," Conker, "R.C. Pro-Am" and many more. In total, this Holiday Bundle gets you 36 games for your $399.
