If you’re trying to get a head start on holiday shopping, Columbus Day is the last major retail event before Black Friday — and it has tons of deals that will help you tick items off your shopping list. Check out some of the best sales to shop this weekend, leading up to Columbus Day on Monday, Oct. 10. 1. Amazon: Prime members can save $30 on the Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite e-readers, as well as the Kindle for Kids bundle, or $50 on the Kindle Voyage e-reader, through Oct. 11. Deals are available in store and online. 8. 1800mattress: Buy mattresses from Serta, Sealy and other brands for up to 65% off at 1800mattress’ Columbus Day sale, and take home a free air mattress if you spend more than $799.

American Eagle Outfitters: AEO is marking down online prices on its men’s and women’s fall collections by 25-60%, plus all clearance jeans are available for $19.99 online and in store. Both deals are good through Oct. 10. 10. Banana Republic: Shop BR’s “Want, Need, Now” event to save up to 40% on select men’s and women’s fall styles. 11. DSW: Online shoppers can use code FALLSAVINGS to take $10 off $49 purchases, $20 off $99 purchases or $40 off $199 purchases through Oct. 10. 12. Gap: Through Oct. 8, take 35% off your entire Gap purchase, including sale styles. Use code WANT to claim the discount online. 13.
