The Sensor Pad cannot differentiate between the movements of the baby or parent/carer and may not alarm Once the bedside crib is not attached to the parent/carers bed it needs to be placed at least 30cm away from the parent/carers bed, only at this point can the Sensor Pad be used Avoid making contact with the crib when the monitor is on as the Sensor Pad is sensitive enough to detect your movements as well as your baby’s The Sensor Pad monitors all of your baby’s movements, even the slightest ones The sensitivity can be adjusted to ensure that movement is monitored over the whole of the mattress, from corner to corner Other movements could be created by a fan pointed at the cot/cot bed, a mobile attached to the cot, a cot in rocking motion, another person touching the cot, radiator pipes, etc
However, the Sensor Pad cord MUST be installed as per the following instructions. ALL CORDS MUST be kept away from baby at all times, by safely passing the Sensor Pad cord through the base of the cot, using the cord cover kit to fix the cord well away from baby. There must be no cords above the mattress at any time and all cords must be tightly secured with no slack. The Nursery Unit and Parent Unit MUST be a minimum of 1m (3ft) away from the cot How the Sensor Pad Works To explain the alarms to you - if no movement is detected on the surface of your baby`s mattress for 15 seconds you will hear the: Rouse Alarm – this is a single beep from the Nursery Unit only which can rouse baby out of a deep sleep. If you hear the Rouse Alarm only this means that the Sensor Pad has helped to re-establish your baby’s sleeping pattern, and will carry on monitoring your baby. If after a further 5 seconds there is still no movement detected on the surface of the mattress you will hear the:
Main Alarm – this is a series of loud continuous beeps from both the Nursery Unit & Parent Unit (if switched on). This indicates that your monitor has not re-established your baby’s sleeping pattern.
