TT Games, Traveller's Tales PS4, Switch, Xbox One Grand Theft Auto V Grand Theft Auto Online Deus Ex: Mankind Divided The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt -- Blood and WineA game where you create buildings, fight monsters and explore varied worlds from deserts to forests may sound familiar. Instead, it’s the latest game from Lego that has at least a few similarities to the wildly successful PC and console game.

Called Lego Worlds, it sees players roam around environments built from Lego blocks while flying on dragons and riding on motorbikes. Lego Worlds (screenshot shown) is being developed by TT Games in Maidenhead. It is available now for £11.99 ($14.99) on Steam Early Access. Players explore open worlds, create structures and battle enemiesThe game, available only for Windows at the moment, was released on Steam Early Access by the Lego team.Early Access is essentially a place where people can play a game before it goes to a full release, with the public given the chance to provide feedback.Lego Worlds can be bought for £11.99 ($14.99), with the full release of the game expected next year.  Minecraft was created in 2009. At the start of the game, a player is put into a 'virtually infinite game world.'They can then walk around different terrains, including mountains, forests and caves. Players can also fly up in the air for a birds-eye view of the landscape.Players are given blocks and tools to build towns and cities.

As a player progresses they can earn advanced tools and building blocks in different materials. The game was initially made for the PC but there are now Xbox 360 and mobile versions available.  Interestingly, Lego already stocks a variety of real-life Minecraft building sets including a cave, a farm and the infamous final boss in the game - the Ender Dragon.  The game is being developed by video game developer TT Games based in Maidenhead. The team has previously worked on a variety of other Lego games including Lego Star Wars and Lego Batman.‘Lego Worlds embodies the physical, Lego brick-building fun that consumers have enjoyed for decades, on a digital platform that delivers an entirely new type of experience with the beloved bricks,’ said Tom Stone, Managing Director of TT Games.‘From the brick-by-brick editor, to discovering an expansive range of items, characters and creatures to populate your worlds - the creative possibilities are endless.’ In the game, players can customise their character with a variety of outfits and accessories.

The team behind the game has previously worked on a variety of other Lego games including Lego Star Wars and Lego Batman Landscapes can be altered using a variety of tools, including a 'gun' that is held by the character. Players can use a keyboard and mouse to move and perform actions, or a controller Buildings such as houses can be created, while cars are also available to drive around. The worlds are completely open to explore, while players can grass  - using a lawnmower - and even build mail boxes The game also features a number of creatures such as dragons, seen here, which can be controlled Players can also drive a number of vehicles such as a plane, while there are horses to ride on the groundIn Lego Worlds, players control a customisable character in third-person and explore an open world populated with buildings and creatures.Players can use a keyboard and mouse to move and perform actions, or a controller. The worlds are completely open to explore, while players can create a house complete with grass to cut - using a lawnmower - and a mail box.

A gun that fires Lego blocks into particular shapes can also be used to shape the environment, while items such as buildings or trees can be selected and placed on the ground. The game bears at least a few similarities to Minecraft (pictured) and appears to be a direct competitor. Interestingly, Lego already stocks a variety of real-life Minecraft building sets including a cave, a farm and the infamous final boss in the game - the Ender Dragon The game is available in Early Access from Steam. Early Access is essentially a place where people can play a game before it goes to a full release, with the public given the chance to provide feedback The game is single player only for now, but Lego said it may add multiplayer in future A variety of different locations are available, including deserts and this odd mushroom-filled forest‘Large-scale landscaping tools’ can modify the terrain quickly, while Lego said some ‘commercially available’ building sets - presumably digital versions of real sets - can also be unlocked.
