FIFA World is a free online version of EA’s popular football simulator. You can create your own club, sign players to your team, and compete in online tournaments to prove you're a football pro. In FIFA World, you must create your own virtual team and run it. As you play either online or against the "machine", you'll earn experience rewards and coins, both needed to sign up new players. It's basically a game that has been developed in the image and likeness of the FIFA Ultimate Team mode, although simplified. In addition to this mode, with FIFA World you can also lead your squad in Online Seasons. As in the traditional version of FIFA, you’ll start in the last league table (tenth), and you’ll have to beat your opponents to reach the top. The difficulty of each opponent gradually increases as you climb the league tables, of course. The FIFA World interface is similar to the one you'll find on FIFA 14: large and well-designed panels that are easy to understand, and if you've never played the Ultimate Team mode on any FIFA, it includes a useful tutorial.
FIFA World controls are very simple: with the mouse, you select where you want the player to aim. With the left button, you make short passes; with the right one, you shoot. With other keys, you can perform certain actions including changing players, or taking the goalkeeper outside his area. Although it’s quite easy to play with the mouse and keyboard, you get the best gaming experience with a controller. FIFA World supports gamepads, including the Xbox for PC one. If you're using a controller, the right analog stick is used to dribble (you don’t get as many options as in FIFA 14, but it’s quite good). Matches on FIFA World online are fluid and with almost no lag. Obviously, the graphics engine is a simplified version of FIFA 14, so even though it's quite good, don’t expect anything too exceptional. On the other hand, the sound effects are rather poor. Before you play, you have to be aware that FIFA World is not a state of the art game. Its aim is to show how much fun the Ultimate Team mode from FIFA can be.
In fact, if you already have FIFA 14, it doesn’t really make sense to download FIFA World. Ne vous réjouissez pas trop vite: cette version a beau être une sorte de démo, elle n'est pas gratuite pour autant. LEGO Worlds reprend l'essence de la série Minecraft et l'injecte dans le monde de LEGO. On pourrait croire à une sorte de fermeture du cercle, puisque, tout compte fait, c'est quand même de LEGO que Minecraft s'est largement inspiré.
Chaque nouvelle partie de LEGO Worlds débute avec un nouveau monde généré de manière aléatoire. Pour le moment, pas d'objectif concret. Comme on s'y attendait, on peut se servir de pièces de LEGO pour échafauder des objets préfabriqués comme des châteaux-forts du Moyen-Age, des vaisseaux spatiaux, etc. Un peu comme si vos jouets du monde réel prenaient soudain vie dans cet univers virtuel. Le monde de LEGO Worlds, avec ses multiples décors, invite à l'exploration. Et l'esprit d'aventure rapporte gros, puisque ces différents mondes cachent des trésors bourrés de pièces. Ces pièces, bien sûr, vont vous permettre d'acheter d'autres constructions. Surprise, certains coffres ne contiennent pas que des pièces. Vous y trouverez aussi des armes. Eh bien pour vous défendre, pardi! C'est que les LEGO Worlds sont peuplés de toutes sortes de créatures, plus ou moins sympas: vampires, chevaux, cochons, zombies. On peut apprivoiser certains animaux, voire monter dessus.
Mais n'essayez pas de vous approcher d'autres créatures beaucoup moins avenantes! C'est là que vous serez content d'avoir un fusil. Sur le plan graphique, LEGO Worlds est bien plus impressionnant, bien mieux détaillé que Minecraft. Les effets, les jeux d'ombre et de lumière y sont très réussis. Ajoutez à cela un cycle jour/nuit à couper le souffle: l'aube et le crépuscule de chaque nouveau jour dans LEGO Worlds donnent envie de tout arrêter juste pour profiter du spectacle. Pour l'heure, c'est encore à une version incomplète du jeu que l'on a accès. Dans LEGO Worlds, il ne s'agit pour l'instant que d'explorer, construire, conduire des véhicules, chevaucher des animaux et débloquer des constructions. Le jeu a encore beaucoup à faire pour vraiment satisfaire les attentes: un mode multijoueur, plus de décors, plus de manières de partager ses créations en ligne, plus d'outils de création, de personnalisation des personnages. Les développeurs ont encore du pain sur la planche jusqu'à la sortie officielle de la version complète, prévue pour 2016.
