The Batmobile and the Two-Face Chase (6864) is the third LEGO DC Universe Super Heroes set to be review by The Brick Fan. This set retails for $49.99 and contains 531 pieces. This set has one of the better price to piece ratio especially for a licensed set at $0.09/piece. There are four numbered bags, two instruction booklets, and comic book #5. In this set, there are five minifigures in this set: Batman, Two-Face, two henchmen, and a security guard. Starting with Batman, he is has a black suit with a yellow utility belt. The Dark Knight has the same double-sided head as the one in the Catwoman Catcycle City Chase. One side has the content look and the other has the cocky smile. Both sides have the white bandana to act as the eyes when the cowl is over his head. His accessory is his trusty Batarang. Two-Face is dressed in a orange and purple suit. This color scheme is prominent throughout the set. He has black and white hair which is similar to the animated cartoon series. His accessory is his signature two-headed coin.
Because the coin is just a stud, you only get one side of the coin. Two-Face’s henchmen have the same orange and purple color scheme clothing as their boss. One of them drives the truck and one operates the hook on the back. Their accessories include a crowbar and a bundled stick of dynamite. The security guard is basically just a police officer. He also acts as the bank teller. His accessories includes a walkie-talkie and a pair of handcuffs. There are three parts to the build, the Batmobile, Two-Face’s truck, and the bank. Bags 1 and 2 are used to build the Batmobile, bag 3 for the truck, and bag 4 for the bank. The Batmobile is a very nice vehicle. The style is very reminiscent to the Batmobiles you normally see. There is a small Batman logo in the front which is just one of the three stickers on the vehicle. The hubcaps on the wheels are bright yellow which may or may not be that distracting. Personally, I like them because it gives the car a more Batman-y feeling.
Towards the back, the car has the signature fins as well as flames shooting from the back. There are also two flick-fire missiles that shoot from the back. The cockpit area is pretty bland. Batman can’t sit that straight in the driver seat because he’s a little too tall so he has to drive leaning back. Two-Face’s truck has the same color scheme as the minifigures and is basically a jeep with some modifications. The main modification that you see is the hook on the back. Other modifications include flick-fire missiles on the right of the truck and a gatling gun on the left. There are five stickers on the truck which was a pain. The bank is a fairly small structure with an open back. On the left side of the front side, you have a door that opens out and a “Bank” sign. To the right, you have windows with stickers that have dollar signs. On the top of the bank, you have some lights as well as some skylights. At the back of the bank, you get to play with the interior of the bank.
The main thing you see is a green vault. Inside the vault are three money tiles. Next to that is a computer where the security guard/teller works. On the right side of the bank, there is a lever which blows out the windows so that Two-Face and his henchmen can steal the vault. The hook on the back of the truck conveniently attaches to the ring on top of the safe and carries it away. You may start to wonder if the bank was in on the plan and wanted Two-Face to steal the vault. This set has a lot of playability ranging from the Batmobile, to the bank and everything in between. The vehicles are nice especially the Batmobile as well as the minifigures. The overall price to piece ratio was great considering that licensed sets usually cost a little more. Another bonus is that you get the new orange brick separator. This is a great set to pick up especially for younger kids. Sorry, we can't find that page!
