North East Lego Landmarks showcases my work from the last couple of years recreating iconic buildings and structures from the North East of England. It includes Angel of the North, BALTIC, Civic Centre, St James’ Park, Transporter Bridge and more. Reaction so far has been fantastic, and I’m thrilled with how the models look in the Centre. The exhibition runs until May 14th and entry is included with the standard tickets price for the Centre. See here for more details. My Team Valley model for UK Land Estates is now complete – shown below with aerial shot of the real site at the top. Model is 60×25 inches, scale 1:2000 to represent the 3km long site. A very challenging project at this scale – hard to get detail for individual buildings so this was more about overall feel of this very large site.
See it at my North East Lego Landmarks exhibition which opens at The Centre for Life, Newcastle, on January 14th… Here it is – the first completed St James’ Park made from Lego. One of three commissioned by Newcastle United Foundation. This one will be auctioned off very shortly. Number two could be yours for the price of a raffle ticket! The Newcastle United Foundation have commissioned me to build 3 of these models, approx 26×20 inches. This is not finished yet but watch this space to see final shots, and to hear about how you might get your hands on one!My Centre for Life build commissioned by them that will form part of my North East Lego Landmarks exhibition opening there January 14th. A tricky build – lots of curves which at this scale are a challenge. Model is 20×20 inches square. More photos coming soon… This is the Team Valley trading estate in Gateshead, a massive industrial estate that was developed in the 1930s as one of the first of its kind.
