And even more amazing was the day Vader realized he truly loved him back. (Am I the only one who thinks that every time I hear this line spoken in Star Wars?)Rogue One: A Star Wars Story / LEGO showcased some of its upcoming sets at the Nuremberg Toy Fair, and one in particular hints at Boba Fett's appearance in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Or, at least his ship's appearance. More #LEGO #StarWars Reveals from Nuremberg! #RogueOne & a Droid Tales-esque series titled The Freemaker Adventures. January 30, 2016 The paint job is a bit different, but the ship appears to be the bounty hunter's modified Firespray-31-class patrol and attack vehicle. Originally used by Jango Fett, Slave 1 came into Boba Fett's possession after Jango's death.

Some rumors suggest that Felicity Jones's character is Boba Fett's daughter, which would make his ship's appearance a little less surprising. Her costume—along with Diego Luna's, Donnie Yen's, and Jiang Wen's—is currently on display at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany. It's also been rumored that Darth Vader will appear in the film, though his costume has not been revealed. According to those rumors, Vader's suit has been faithfully recreated for the upcoming film. Written by Gary Whitta and Chris Weitz, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story debuts in theaters on December 16, 2016, and tells the story of a group of rebel fighters who unite to steal the Death Star from the Galatic Empire. Nicole is a freelance writer for IGN. You can follow her on Twitter.Aside from the main plot, we know precious little about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The first spinoff revolves around a group of Rebel soldiers who set out to steal plans for the Death Star. Aside from that, no official characters have been revealed.

We know the cast, but not whom they are playing. Then there are the rumors that a number of iconic Star Wars characters will appear at some point in the movie. Darth Vader is said to have a sizable role. And a young Han Solo is expected to make a cameo. But now, we have what could be proof that another original trilogy character may be showing up in some capacity.Yes, it sounds like Boba Fett is going to be showing up at some point in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, even though the character is heavily rumored to be getting his own spinoff in 2020. Even if Boba doesn't show his face, it seems certainly possible that his iconic ship the Slave-1 will be doing a flyby. The idea that Boba Fett is showing up in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is not a new one. In fact, the bounty hunter has been rumored to be part of the story since it was announced. Now there is evidence to support that. The Nuremberg Toy Fair has been ongoing this past weekend, and the LEGO presentation used a photo of the Slave-1 to represent the Rogue One LEGO sets coming our way soon.

While this was an official presentation, there was no explanation as to why the Slave-1 was being used as a placeholder for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. And it's possible they just thought it was a cool Star Wars photo to use. The fact that the Slave-1 is being used during this presentation shouldn't be taken as any kind of confirmation that Boba Fett will actually show up.The Slave-1 in the photo has a slightly different paint job. The ship has been around for awhile, and belonged to Boba's dad Jango Fett before the infamous bounty hunter claimed it as his own. Both Boba and his dad have made numerous modifications to the ship throughout the years. It wouldn't be so weird if the ship got a new paint job.One thing that can't be overlooked is that perhaps this is not the Slave-1, but just a ship of the same model. The Slave-1 is a Kurat Systems Engineering Firespray-class interceptor, and during the timeline shown in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the vehicle is out of date. There aren't too many of these flying around the galaxy.

There is also some speculation that another third party has stolen the Slave-1 and is in possession of it during Rogue One, much like we saw with the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.Another rumor that has been floating around is that Felicity Jones, who is said to be playing Rebel pilot Lyra Erso, is actually Boba Fett's daughter. Other rumors claim that she is actually the daughter of Mads Mikkelsen's character. Perhaps Lyra Erso is borrowing her dad's ride? And then, perhaps, as we've seen with other toys released in conjunction with the movie, it's not in the film at all. Perhaps the first Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer will drop during Super Bowl 50, and we'll learn more than. Take a look at the photo of Slave-1 in question.More #LEGO#StarWars Reveals from Nuremberg! To this day, Star Wars fans mourn that Boba Fett exited the saga with so little fanfare. But that was not originally the case. After making his debut in Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, it seemed as if the masked and mysterious bounty hunter was set to play a much larger role in the follow-up, Return of the Jedi.

But shockingly, Fett was out of the picture within the first half hour, consigned to being slowly digested for 1,000 years in the belly of the Sarlacc during the rescue of Han Solo from the clutches of Jabba the Hut. If it seemed as if that was an anticlimactic death for a character with so much potential, that's because it apparently was. One-time Lucasfilm employee Craig Miller, who was the company's first fan relations officer, revealed in a new interview with Inverse that, had George Lucas stuck to his plan of making nine films (down from his initial idea of 12), Return of the Jedi would have been a much different film: “Originally Boba Fett was set up in Empire as a character, and the third movie’s plot was going to be more about Boba Fett rescuing Han Solo and all of that. Boba was gonna be the main villain… That was set up, why he was taking Han Solo away, why there was a thing with him in the Christmas special. “When George decided not to make a third trilogy, he completely jettisoned that story line, which is why in the first ten minutes, Boba Fett gets bumped into and falls into the mouth of a giant monster.
