This weekend, rapper will became the latest name to venture into the retail sneaker world. Up NYC is a collaborative effort between Fat Joe and Scotty Spina, who is known for supplying rappers and celebrities with rare . The store is at 3806 Broadway in New York City, and the grand opening is set to take place Saturday at 10 a.m. ET. “The upcoming hottest sneaker store is coming to the heart of New York City in September. Up NYC will possess a theme that has never been duplicated before. While providing you with the best customer service and the ability to provide to everyone that walks in our front door,” reads a press release. In addition to stocking the hottest sneaker releases on a weekly basis, Up NYC will be celebrating its grand opening by offering shoppers a chance at dozens of long-sold-out Air Jordans, including the “Desert Camo” Supreme x Air Jordan 5 collaboration, the Public School x Air Jordan 12, and the “Doernbecher” 13. This past Friday, President Obama visited Nike’s headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon to discuss how initiatives like the Trans-Pacific Partnership will affect the company’s operations. In celebration of the occasion, Nike gifted a new sneaker called the Jordan MTM to the POTUS, a collaborative shoe designed by Mark Parker, Tinker Hatfield, and Michael Jordan (hence the acronym MTM). While pictures of the shoe haven’t surfaced, it’s described as red, white, and blue, and was made on the Nike campus. In addition to the MTM pair, Obama also reportedly received a one-of-one pair of Air Force 1s, as well as a pair of Made in USA Flyknits.
