Centra Coconut Beach Resort is a mid-range resort tucked away on the far southwestern coast of Koh Samui, the least developed area of the island. While it's far from the main bar and restaurant spots, it's ideal to get away from the crowds. The resort features slightly worn Villas and rooms set around two swimming pools. Rooms are nothing special, but do come with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and DVD players; some have direct pool access. In addition to the swimming pools, there is a tiny fitness center (just a few cardio machines), a spa, and a bistro restaurant and bar next to the beach. While it isn't the most elegant spot and the beach isn't Samui's best, the prices aren't outrageous compared to some of the other properties in the neighborhood. Located on the beach, set with beanbag chairs and sun loungers Two outdoor swimming pools, one with a swim-up bar Three restaurants, including a buffet restaurant with free breakfast Some rooms have direct pool access;

all have flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and free Wi-Fi Cute spa and fitness center Happy Hour at Maprao Bar Located off the beaten track, far from the crowds Cheaper than some of the nearby competition Far from main restaurant and bar areas Beach area is fairly small Charge for shuttle service Centra Coconut Beach Resort is a mid-range resort tucked away on the far southwestern coast of Koh Samui, the least developed area of the island. Tranquil and laid-back beach hotel The Centra Coconut Beach Resort usually hosts a mix of families and couples of all ages. Most are looking for a fairly inexpensive stay at a quiet beach; you won't find a party crowd on this side of Koh Samui. The main hangout spots at this resort are the two pools. Those with pool access from their rooms prefer the Long Pool as they can access it from their back doors, while those staying near the garden prefer the big circular pool down by the beach. The beach area, with beanbag cushions and a swing, is also popular, although it's not that big of a space.

The other hot spot here is the Maprao Bar, which does two-for-one Happy Hour drinks and has beanbag chairs set up to look out at the sunset and small offshore islands. Indoors, the lobby includes a blue and white abstract reception desk next to a sunken living room that holds a semi-circle built-in couch topped with orange, blue, and brown pillows. Tour brochures and English language newspapers are displayed. Located in a quiet spot on Thong Tanote Beach on the southwest tip of the island, the least built up area of Samui The Centra Coconut Beach Resort is located far off the beaten path in the southwest corner of the island. This is one of Samui's least developed areas, so it's great for those looking for a quiet escape from the party hordes. Thong Tanote Beach, which fronts the resort, is a tranquil spot, although the areas of the beach adjacent to the resort are not well maintained. There are a few local restaurants, shops, and bars in the neighborhood. The resort does run a shuttle bus several times a day to Lamai, which is full of bars and eateries, but there's a charge for this service.

The vibe along this part of the coast is a bit old school, so it's a good spot to experience Samui as it used to be. Rooms and Villas, some with pool access Guests at Centra Coconut Beach Resort can select from rooms above and next to the Long Pool or Villas in the garden. Villas are the top category and come with large bathrooms and an all wooden interior. They look pretty worn, and are more expensive than the Deluxe Pool Access rooms which lead into the Long Pool. The Superior Pool View rooms are the same as the Deluxe except that they have upstairs balconies rather than direct pool access. All rooms come with desks, flat-screen TVs, DVD players, safes, mini-fridges, electric kettles, and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms have soaking tubs while others have showers. Decor is a bit dull. The wall behind the bed is painted a deep green, but the rest of the room is white and neutral, including the tile floors. Beach access, kayaks, and swimming pools The standout feature of the Centra Coconut Beach Resort are its two swimming pools.

One is long and narrow, sitting in a courtyard between the two room buildings, with a swim-up bar, YNam, in the middle. The other pool is by the beach, a circular pool with plenty of sun loungers and all day sunshine. The beach here also has loungers and bean bag chairs, and is a pretty chill spot, although the adjacent areas are rather dirty. Kayaks are available to rent. The resort has a small spa and a tiny gym, which consists of only a few cardio machines and a set of free weights. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.Maprao Bar is next to the beach, with bean bag chairs to watch the sunset on. Mix Bistro, also near the beach, serves free buffet breakfasts and then lunch and dinner, with a mix of Thai and international fare. Sabai Thai Party does weekly seafood barbecues. Room service is available. Stumbled across this beach bar wandering along chaweng beach and noticed people drinking cocktails sitting/lying on beanbags so I figured I'd give it a go! It did not disappoint!

Cheap but GOOD cocktails, and you are in comfort! Definitely will be spending as much time here on my trip as possible This place is located right on the beach. Relax on a beanbag while sipping on their delicious cocktails!! A favourite spot for us while in Koh Samui :) Massaman curry from the restaurant next door is the best we have tasted in Thailand yet, yum! When people make a great effort and are so friendly we should make sure to give positive promotions I believe and here is super friendly we rented a paddle board for an hour and paddled out into the flat clear blue waters then came in to the very creative and relaxed environment the furnishings are lovely and decoration is perfect... We wandered up the main street in Chaweng (super busy!) and then walked back up along the beach starting at the Aquapark (great fun). Towards the top end of the beach we saw this little place, doesn't look like much but I remembered the great reviews I had read on Tripadvisor and I am sooo glad we stopped!

Wonderful little bar in a great spot on the beach, at a little headland. Cocktails are great value and huge, served in Mason jars and delicious, with big chunks of fresh fruit as garnish. Seating on comfy big bean bags under fairy lights. The boys who work there are all very friendly and attentive without being pushy.... We stumbled across this place as they were renting paddle boards! Which were cheap and ideal for an hour. We then went for cocktails after during happy hour. The cocktails were good- not the best we had but beautifully presented and a great buzz. You get really comfy beanbags to sit on with a great view of chaweng! I came across Mini bar due to the recommendations on trip advisor. I visited one afternoon had a couple of drinks and relaxed on the big bean bags watching the world go by probably the most relaxed i have ever felt. The music was excellent and so was the was the rum. The guys who ran it were super friendly... During our visit in Samui we visited Mini Bar many times and we really enjoyed it.
