I noticed that some rentals include the beach chair set up as part of their rental rate -- can anyone give me an idea of how much this would generally cost? Just trying to get an idea of the savings involved. Most are $30 for double chairs with umbrella.

Edited: 4:07 pm, May 16, 2011 The price also varies a little depending on what time of year it is and some will give you a deal for multiple days as well. You should be able to negotiate with the beach chair people. We have paid on average $100 for the week. Just got back last week from PCB (First trip.... We stayed at The Legacy by the Sea. There, the double beachchair was $30 the first day, $25 the second. My guy told me he gets paid on commission, and they will negotiate (found this out after i paid him). Totally worth the money though, as I love the beach, but don't like having to sit or lay down in the sand. Also, it comes with an umbrella, which they will move for you however you like it, all day long. It was like having your own private Cabana Boy...sorta of... TO me the best thing we do is set up our own tent We have a 10x14 text we set up alongside the umbrellas and chairs we leave it up all week we set our chairs beach toys etc right under we use the sides to hold up towel and beachbags so sand doesnt get all over them and when we leave for the day we takes the tarp part off and lower the arms with the chairs and toys

under them folded so all we need when come is the cooler and beach bags and it works out perfect Saves a lot of time and money Like someone else said it depends on the time of year and if your a return customer. I normally pay $100 for a week but I go during Spring Break and Im sure its higher during the summer. This is what we intend to do as well, but I was concerned about leaving my tent on the beach overnight. No one messes with your stuff or steals it? We are bringing ours as well. We do take the canvas off at night. No one is going to take the time to take up all the poles without the canvas. No one bothered it all week. We have two grandbabies 3 and 6 and it really helps them from burning too much. They can still play in the sand and be shaded. We had no problems. Some folks stood under it to cool off while walking but we didn't mind. Pet friendly places to stay in PCB FL Best Seafood in PCB for the money? What is everyones opinion on this? Is it hard to find a spot in late july to put your own chairs? Thanks for all your help! I prefer renting as opposed to lugging chairs/umbrellas around. Rentals are $135/wk at Long Beach for 2 chairs and an umbrella. It's highway robbery, but I guess you gotta pay for convenience. We purchased a nice 8ft beach umbrella and sand anchor for $40. We didn't use chairs but our condo had them available for us to use. The condo also had umbrellas but we preferred using the one we brought with us. The savings was well worth having to carry the umbrella down to the beach with us. You can always just leave the umbrella in your spot if you wanted. We didn't do this, but a lot of people did. we always take a 10x10 canopy and set it up. bring your own , renting is way tooooo HIGH !!! Not sure where you are staying, but we have always had plenty of room in June or July. Plus, with your own chairs you can move them away from the umbrella if you wish and down close or in the waters edge.

It is a hassle taking everything down and back up. We found a small rolling carry all cart at CVS here for $19 and it will hold 2 chairs, umbrella, cooler and pool bag. Our big problem is getting all that and luggage in the car! georgiaspoons...we've done both...lugged our own chairs and rented by the day of week. Honestly, I love renting the chairs-we are a family of 5 and already carry towels, toys, and a drink/snack cooler...so much nicer to just plop down in the chairs that you know are waiting for you every day. Some condo rentals include beach chair rentals, which is great perk! We are still looking for a condo and most of the Resort Quest condos we are looking at come with beach set-up. Typically, the rentals are $20/day or you can sometimes make a deal for 3 days or the week...we look at the weather forecast and how many days we plan to be on the beach and decide. I personally hate to see those cabanas or sometimes even tents that people will leave up all week...not very pretty at sunrise or sunset when the beach is clear except for those.
