Certainly romance is truly serious business. Or could it be? Exactly what do you think your husband would choose if put to the test. 1. Watch the beautiful tearjerker motion picture, The Notebook. 2. Do anything that doesn’t involve watching The Notebook

My personal answer is easy. My hubby would opt for a root canal instead of sitting through a movie like the Notebook or Terms of Endearment. Don’t get me wrong. That does not mean he’s not romantic. The person loves deeper than I possibly could describe. He’s simply not a fan of traditional ‘romance movies’.

Our own date nights usually involve Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Owen Wilson, or Jim Carrey. Those men don’t know this, but they are a huge part of what makes our marriage is this type of joy. The truth that our date nights contain a fun motion picture rather than a forced moment implies that my husband is happy and relaxed – two very good things for romance.

Are you searching for a lighthearted fun romantic motion picture that you and your husband will love? Here are a few of our favorites.

The Princess Bride – “Is this a kissing book?” The Princess Bride is the story of the woman who is having to marry a cold, evil prince, while her real love tries to prevent the marriage.

I don’t know how often I tried to get my hubby to view this movie until finally I simply put the movie in, clicked ‘play’, and hid the remote. It is now among his favorite movies. He likes it because of the comedy and the fighting. I really like it because it is just a joy to view.

Groundhog Day – After grudgingly having to cover Punksatawney Phil for Groundhog Day, a weatherman gets stuck living the same day over and over.

This is just one of my husband’s all-time favorite movies. Plus, if your husband is keen on Caddyshack, he’ll appreciate Bill Murray battling a rodent once again.

The Wedding Singer – Robbie, the wedding singer and Julia, the waitress are both engaged to be married but to the wrong people.

Any man who remembers the 80s will thoroughly enjoy this. And, every woman will be teary-eyed when Robbie sings “Grow Old with You” at the conclusion.

Fun With Dick and Jane – Dick and Jane are living the good life, till Dick is setup as the fall person for the firm he works for. With no job, no financial savings, no pension plan, in addition to residing in shame inside their own neighborhood. Things get a whole lot worse when they get a foreclosure notice. It’s off on a crazy crime spree, but, wait… go see the end for yourself.

Romance doesn’t need to be serious. It may be enjoyable! Just have fun with one another. Today go get a humorous motion picture, cuddle up with your hubby and enjoy.
