When Wall left, so did a bunch of lottery picks. Five players from the University of Kentucky were drafted in the first round of the 2010 NBA Draft. Starting with Reebok and Zigtech, Wall made the jump over to adidas after the third signature shoe. Wall received the John Wall 1 which unveiled his signature logo with his initials JW intertwined. The point guard has shown flashes of brilliance and will only continue to get better as his career progresses. John Wall signed a deal with Reebok before he was even draft. His first signature shoe came in the form of the Reebok Zig Slash. They featured Reebok’s innovative Zigtech and focused on using the rising star to market it. The shoes featured a foam outsole was supposed to absorb impact and spread it through the zigs and zags. The shoes weren’t too popular and Reebok was forced to try again with Wall’s second signature shoe. He recorded his first career triple-double and was named the MVP of the Rookie Game in the Zig Slash. Improving on the disappointment of the Zig Slash, the Encore did improve but not by much. Retailing at $115, many chose to stray away from the shoe which didn’t perform as well as others for the price.
In the Reebok Zig Encore, Wall was able to build upon the success of his impressive rookie year. He played all 66 games in the shortened locked out season. Wall was a lone bright spot in another Wizards’ disappointing season John Wall’s third season came with the Zig Escape. Once again, Reebok attempted to make Zigtech happen through their young athlete. They ZigNano sole was trimmed down to saty closer to the ground for a sleek look. In his third year, Wall has proven his athleticism and lighting quick agility. The ZigEncore was forced to keep up with Wall without hiderng his moves. John Wall’s autograph could be found by the ankle area. These would be Wall’s last shoe with Reebok as he transitions to adidas to join Derrick Rose. Fitting his style of play, adidas laced Wall up in the adidas Crazyquick 2. The name fits extremly well too. This wasn’t a signature shoe for Wall, but he was heavily affiliated with this model. He unveiled the shoe and shared the model with other adidas athletes like Damian Lillard.
