There are several different article formats on the website that look similar. However, not all of them have same functionality. Some are simple galleries, some are complex photo stories. Below are few examples:

Photo stories:

Galleries have:

no separate index page
same title on each page
same url for each page
previous/next page links on each page
full list of thumbnails with links to corresponding pages on each page
no content other than the image and its description

Photo stories have:

separate index page with story summary
individual title on each page
individual urls for each page
no previous/next page links on index page
incomplete list of thumbnails with links on each page
individual content (text, images, etc.) in addition to image and its description - each page is a separate article
no image at all on some pages

In summary:

These are two completely different formats of articles despite they look very similar.

It's possible to display the full gallery in single IV. It's pretty easy and safe.

It's not quite possible to display the whole photo story in single IV page. It's too complicated (since there's no full list of pages on any page), and it's not safe, because IV parser crashes with "inline page too large" or "rules too slow" errors.
