View our Finishes & FabricsCompare Wholesale EN14988 Approved Restaurant Adult Baby High Chair For Wholesale Hebei Little Buck Children's Toys Co., Ltd. US $1.1-3.2 1 Piece Transaction LevelFrom September 2010 Birth Club I was out at a dinner party last night, and my sister was there with her 9 week old baby.  when we got to the restaurant, she had her little one in the car seat, and the waiter brought over a high chair and put it upside down so she could set the car seat on top.  I know this is frequently done at restaurants, but it is NOT safe! early on, we were all having a discussion about how putting the baby in the high chair like that seemed very unsafe and made us kind of nervous....but at one point when she got sleepy, my sister did set her down in the seat like that.  the high chair ended up getting bumped into by another chair, and the whole thing toppled over!  it was absolutely horrifying to watch.  thank God the baby was secure in the car seat and was not harmed at all.

she was fine and didn't even cry.  But, she could have been seriously injured.  my sister was in near hysterics and felt incredibly guilty even though the baby was ok. after it toppled over, we noticed a huge warning label on the bottom of the high chair that said never to turn it upside down to place an infant car seat on top.  i will never be putting my little one in a rigged up contraption like that after watching my little niece take that tumble.  Proud Mommy to Isaac (4/15/08), Nolan (8/26/10), and Alexandria (1/26/2012)! I couldn't do it with my ODS. It scared the crap out of me everything I thought about it. We would just get a booth and slide him in on one side. If they had the carseat holders we would use that but I couldn't make myself use an upside down highchair. You would think restaurants wouldn't suggest it considering it's a HUGE liability. *Jen* married my HS sweetheart Bryan 10/06/07Tyler 9/22/2008Bradley 8/25/2010I would never feel comfortable putting a carseat on a highchair....or a shopping cart for that matter.

DH est. 3/23/15 | DD est. 9/11/10 | DSS est. 9/14/11 | I'm surprised people still do this, honestly.  It says not to and most restaurants tell customers no since it's a liability for them. ErikaMarried to Bryan 8 yearsMother to Patricia 7 years, Bryan Jr 5 years, Gian 1 year we did it one time with my first kids cause i didn't know any better...and i didn't feel like it was SAFE.... I know at the Olive Garden they have this cradle like thing that the car seat sits in and get's STRAPPED to...Now Restaurants need to invest in those for Car seats and not turn over a high chair to use. Mommy to a ds 4/3/02, dd 12/31/03, angel baby ^I^ 9/06, ds 6/2/07, dd 9/9/10, angel baby ^I^ 9/22/11, and dd 9/14/12 yes, it is kind of surprising that the restaurants would actually offer the high chairs to be used like that...especially with the big warning on the bottom. but, i actually see them being used like that all the time.  i don't haul the infant car seat around very often because it's just so heavy, so i'm usually just holding the baby while in a restaurant.

i just wanted everyone to be aware of the danger in case they didn't know.  Like PP (previous poster) mentioned they do make those sling like contraptions that are specifically made for carseats. If they dont have those and offer the highchair, I usually request a regular chair or a large booth and Ill put the carseat on that. ***Kelly SAHMamma to ***Nevaeh Elisabeth ?6.13.05?&Marlee Alice?9.8.10?! We did it with our DS (dear son) because we didn't know any better.  We strapped it to the high chair.  Then we saw the slings and that is what we hoped to use from then on or we just put baby in the booth/chair with us.  It really stinks more restaurants do not have the slings.  I found the nicer the restaurant the less likely they were to have the sling (probably due to not getting too many kids in there!) Yeah I get totally freaked out at restuarants when I see the upside down high chairs.  We have the slings at my work... Although I have seen people misuse those.
